Huuuge news over here at Luminous CST! I have quit my full time job as an athletic trainer and am now moving this from my side gig to full time career. Last spring, I knew it was my time to leave my place of employment but didn’t feel like I was ready to not be an athletic trainer anymore, so I started a new job still in the industrial setting in April. It took about two weeks there for me to realize that I would very soon be ready to move on. I pushed through for months before I decided there would be no way I could go back to work after my vacation in the Dominican. So I pulled the trigger and left for what is my actual passion.

This work is so much deeper than anything I’ve done in the past. Using craniosacral therapy as a modality has opened the doors to some pretty wild skills as well as client results and I know that I have only skimmed the surface of what’s to come. I cannot wait to continue both my education and my practice in CST and any other learning paths that come my way.

We were so busy on Small Business Saturday that we forgot to take pictures, so here’s us taking a snowy end of day photo. I was excited to introduce my Co-owner, IT Director, Photographer, Chair of the Board, Assistant to the Regional Manager, and most importantly, my husband Conor to the patrons of Luminous CST and .massageandspa. I knew I wouldn’t be able to run my promo without help to keep things moving smoothly. I am so thankful he was willing to step up to the plate and help with everything I needed.

Thank you to everyone that braved the nasty weather and stopped by to check out what craniosacral therapy actually is. I was delighted to be able to teach people about something they knew nothing about! Excited to have another successful Small Business Saturday in the books!

✨Today marks one full year at Luminous CST!✨

Reminiscing that time I accidentally started my own business and have somehow kept it going for a year.. I still am in awe that I actually went out and did this and have continued to build my own practice. It’s been a wild ride for sure. I know that I have just skimmed the surface and I am so excited for what’s to come!

I’d like to take a second for a couple of shoutouts. First, the team at .massageandspa Without their support, I wouldn’t be nearly as close to where I am now. Everything they’ve done to help me in this journey is so greatly appreciated. And second, my IT Director/Husband He’s kept me fed and taken care of while I put all of my energy toward building my business and also handles anything that has to do with technology- because if it’s anything more complicated than scheduling an appointment, I’m out. No chance I could be doing any of this without him.

To celebrate this milestone, I’m offering 30-minute craniosacral therapy sessions for just $40 if you book before October 1st. (Appointment can occur after October 1st.) Getting prepped for my next adjunct class this weekend! This class is called Body Alchemy of Relational Neuroscience. As I dive deeper into my exploration of how truly interconnected the mind and body are and integrate this into my practice, it’s paramount that I have the skills necessary to deal with the intensity of what may come up during sessions. This class will provide me with skills in communication, energetic boundaries, and advanced CST techniques to help individuals who have dealt with trauma, abuse, and PTSD. This class is about to be heavy, but extremely beneficial and I’m really looking forward to it. If this intrigues you, let’s chat!

Since I saw a job opening with the FBI in college, I’ve always had an interest in tactical medicine. Even though I didn’t end up taking my career that route, it still remains an area that piques my interest. What I did do was spend the first five years of my career as a high school athletic trainer where I was the first responder on site. So I have experienced first-hand the toll that constantly being on edge takes on your nervous system, much less dealing with actual traumatic events.

I came across this study the other day from 2022 where they performed craniosacral therapy (CST) on firefighter cadets once a week for five weeks. After the 5 weeks, the cadets showed a significant decrease in the stress hormone, cortisol. It’s such a great reminder of how important it is to care for those who face high levels of stress day in and day out and how CST can do that.

As I was staring at this post, I thought “instead of just posting about first responders, let’s actually treat them to the care they need.” So I’ve decided to offer 25% off all services for first responders through the month of September. With a background in athletic training, I look at the body from a sports medicine perspective. And with training in craniosacral therapy and somatoemotional release, I look at the body from a holistic perspective meaning you get the best of both worlds.

If you’re having aches and pains or are dealing with a new or old injury, a Muscle & Joint Assessment is just for you. This service includes a full assessment of the painful body part (range of motion, strength, tissue health, etc.), some time for treatment of the area, and a customized stretching and exercise plan that will be progressed at any subsequent bodywork appointments.
