What brightens up a rainy day? A visit with Enzo and his doggie mom Yani. Enzo is 12 and a little hard of hearing now, but that doesn’t slow him down. He still enjoys all the head scratches and love he gets from our residents! Yani says this is her dream job, now that she’s retired. We are thankful for all our wonderful volunteers!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes on Veterans Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication to our country inspire us all. Thank you for defending our freedom and for your unwavering commitment to keeping us safe.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices and support our veterans in any way we can. Whether it’s a simple thank you, volunteering, or advocating for their needs, every act of kindness counts.

To all veterans—thank you for your service! ❤️

🧠💜 November is National Alzheimer’s Month! 💜🧠

This month, we unite to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and its impact on millions of lives. It’s essential to recognize the warning signs early so that those affected can receive the support they need.

Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s:

1. Memory Loss - Forgetting recently learned information or important dates.

2. Difficulty Planning or Solving Problems - Trouble with familiar tasks or following a recipe.

3. Confusion with Time or Place - Losing track of dates, seasons, or the passage of time.

4. Challenges in Understanding Visual Images - Difficulty reading, judging distance, or determining color.

5. New Problems with Words - Struggling to follow or join a conversation.

6. Misplacing Items - Putting things in unusual places and losing the ability to retrace steps.

7. Withdrawal from Work or Social Activities - Avoiding hobbies and social engagements.

Importance of Early Detection:

Early detection of Alzheimer’s can lead to better management of the disease. It allows individuals and families to:

• Plan for the Future: Make informed decisions about care and finances.

• Access Treatment Options: Early intervention can slow progression and improve quality of life.

• Increase Support: Connect with resources and support networks.

Did You Know?

• Over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.

• It is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

• Every 65 seconds, someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s.

Let’s raise our voices, share this information, and support those affected by Alzheimer’s. Together, we can make a difference! 💜

🌟 **Happy National Therapeutic Recreation Week!** 🌟

This week, we celebrate the vital role of therapeutic recreation in enhancing the lives of individuals, especially our seniors, who face disabilities, illnesses, and various challenges. Therapeutic recreation is more than just fun; it promotes health, wellness, and inclusion for everyone!

Let’s raise awareness about the numerous benefits of recreation therapy for seniors and advocate for inclusive environments where they can participate in activities that foster joy and connection.

Join us in spreading the word and encouraging everyone to engage in recreational activities that uplift and empower our senior community! 💚
