Top 10 reasons you should consider direct primary care:

1. You deserve your health to take center stage. All of your primary care needs met in one place. Referrals to specialists and imaging when needed can be placed.

2. Same or next day acute visits. Long wait times to be seen can cause a simple issue to progress into more serious concerns.

3. Real time access to your provider, whether a quick question or a timely scheduled visit.

4. Continuity of care. You see a provider that knows you, not just being put in the schedule with whoever has availability.

5. Longer appointment times to better get to the root of your health concerns.

6. Point of care testing when needed for things like Strep, Covid, Influenzas, urinary tract infections, all at no additional cost. Low-cost blood work available when needed or can be ordered to a local lab if you have coverage.

7. One affordable monthly payment that includes all the appointments you may need, never a copay. You are never surprised by unexpected costs.

8. We have the freedom to do home visits if clinically indicated to meet your needs in non-traditional ways and think outside the box when deciding what is best for you.

9. 50+ commonly prescribed medications kept in stock at very low cost to patients; you save time and money by skipping the pharmacy!

10. Evening hours 3 times per week to offer flexibility around your work/personal commitments.

Conveniently located in Presque Isle Maine.

If you don't have insurance, we take care of all of your primary care needs and can help to negotiate steep cash pay discounts if you do need specialist intervention, imaging or other testing that cannot be done in our office.
* We do in office EKG's at no additional charge, point of care testing such as covid, flu, strep, urinalysis also at no additional charge. The difference is access to care, you may have insurance, but are you able to see your provider when needed?
* There are also co-pays if you have insurance that rack up every time you have a visit. There are never any additional costs associated with your membership for additional visits. Click the link below to find out more or sign up for membership.

ā“ā“ā“Most people are thinking; what in the world is direct primary care?
While there is lots of information on our website, in a nutshell it is primary care tailored to you, the patient. We do not bill insurance for our services; therefore, we are not bound by insurance restrictions on decisions for YOUR care.
You pay a monthly membership fee that includes all of your primary care needs, routine visits, same or next day acute visits, telehealth and telephone visits as well as direct texting to your provider. Your insurance is already NOT covering your visits in full; you have co-pays wherever you go. There is never an additional payment required for however many appointments your health requires.
One monthly fee which costs less than a cup of coffee a day over a month. We also offer steeply discounted commonly prescribed medications dispensed in office to our members for a fraction of the retail cost and you don't have an additional trip to the pharmacy.
No waiting weeks to see your healthcare provider and the time needed during appointments to fully address your needs. We offer evening hours 3 days per week to accommodate work schedules and truly; I cannot think of another healthcare model that offers patients a better access to care. If you are ready for a change, visit our website to learn more about becoming a member today.

Tuesday tidbits:
Currently accepting patients, group discounts available for couples and small businesses.

April is national stress awareness month. Here are some tips to combat stress.
*Physical Activity: Engaging in regular exercise, such as walking or sports, is a powerful stress reliever.

*Relaxation Techniques: Practice deep breathing exercises, such as the 4-7-8 method, to quickly calm down.

*Set Boundaries: Learn to say "no" to excessive demands to avoid overwhelming yourself.

*Time Management: Prioritize tasks and break large projects into smaller, manageable goals.

*Connect with Others: Build a support network by talking to friends and family or joining a group to share experiences.

*Lifestyle Changes: Get enough sleep, eat nutritious food, and reduce alcohol, ni****ne, and caffeine consumption.
Identify Triggers: Keep a journal to identify what causes you stress, then create a plan to address those triggers.

*Spend Time in Nature: Even brief periods in nature can improve focus and lower stress.

*Practice Positivity: Focus on accomplishments and things to be grateful for, rather than focusing solely on negative situations.

*Rapid Stress Reduction (When Overwhelmed)
Box Breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4, and hold for 4. Repeat this 6 times.

*Sensory Distraction: If in a high-anxiety state, techniques like eating a very sour candy can help break the cycle of racing thoughts.

Our pediatric DPC clinic here in Presque isle Lionheart DPC was featured in this article. It highlights beautifully the ways that DPC is growing and makes sense as a patient and consumer.

Excited to share this piece from Maine Public where Lionheart Direct Primary Care was featured 🧔🦁

I believe in this model of care with everything I have—because I see the difference it makes for families every day. I’m so happy to see it growing and honored to be a part of it. People are taking notice.

Too many families are dealing with:
• Putting off care because of the worry of a big bill šŸ’ø
• Waiting days (or longer) for an appointment ā³
• Calling with a concern and not being able to actually reach your doctor šŸ“ž
• Feeling like you have to go through multiple people and getting lost in the shuffle of the system šŸ¤•

There’s a better way!

At Lionheart
šŸ¦šŸ’› you know what you’re paying—no surprise bills. You get reliable access to your doctor at a predictable cost.
šŸ¦šŸ’› You can reach me directly, get an appointment the same day, sometimes within just a couple of hours of reaching out.
šŸ¦šŸ’› you have an experienced doctor who truly knows your child.

Direct Primary Care is growing because it’s working—it’s giving families a simpler, more personal, and more reliable way to access care.

You don’t have to keep doing it the hard way.
At some point, you realize—there’s a better way to do this.

We’re currently accepting new families at Lionheart Direct Primary Care—the kind of care more families are turning to for a reason 🩵
