At Stokes, Sundays look a little different, and that’s intentional.

We believe the people who serve our community all week deserve a day to be home with the people who matter most. A day to rest, recharge, worship how they choose, laugh around the table, and just be.

Our team isn’t just staff, they’re family. And taking care of them means giving them the time they need to take care of themselves and their loved ones.

🌟🍎EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT🍎🌟

Hailey Hinkley is a receiving clerk and has worked at Stokes for 13 years. She prefers the morning shift, especially if she’s caffeinated. She loves that we are all like one big family. "We joke, and laugh, and how everyone is willing to pitch in when other departments needs a little help."
Her favorites: Making memories with my little family going on outdoor adventures, snacks with a good salty crunch, Halloween (including fall weather and pumpkins), true crime documentaries, Reggae music, the Oregon Coast, and she’s a big fan of her coworkers.
We asked her what makes Stokes different from other places she’s worked? She said, “A lot of other places make you feel like you're just another number. Stokes makes you feel valued as both an employee and for just being you.”

We asked her a few questions and let her choose what ones she answered. In true Hailey fashion, we went above and beyond, so her are some extra questions she answered: Her favorite part of her work day…any interaction with coworkers and vendors. They make this place fun! If she could describe them in 3 words, they’d be funny, sassy, and smiley.
What’s something Stokes does really well for employees? Upper management is really great at always sharing their appreciation for all the hard work you do. They are also really great and helping resolve any problems as quickly as they can. Everyone always made me feel so welcomed to the Stokes family. 🍎
What’s your hidden talent? I love to get crafty! I try to paint something special on my windows for most holidays.
If you had to eat from one aisle for a week, which one would it be? Probably Aisle 3. Between Soups, Pastas, Asian, and Hispanic canned goods I feel like I have a decent variety.
Best customer interaction you’ve had? You always know when a woman has sent her husband to the store with the shopping list. The elderly are also a favorite. They always have a story or memory to share, and I love that they chose me to share it with.
Favorite aisle? Laundry detergent. We love a good clean and fresh scent.
If you were a product in the store, what would you be and why? Crunchy Flamin' Hot Limon Cheetos. I can be pretty spicy, but I'm bound to leave a lasting impression just like that cheetah dust that sticks to your fingers long after you've finished the bag.

COMPANY BACKGROUND-

Stokes Market was created and existed as a dream for Harold Stokes 4 generations ago. His son Eldon furthered his dream in the 1960's when he bought a small store in Burley, Idaho and the first Stokes Market was born. Eldon's son John joined his father in 1973 when he moved to Burley to extend the family dream. Together John and Eldon opened new locations throughout Idaho. Today that dream is being realized by several amazing store operators & a few members of the Stokes family in Idaho, Montana and Utah.

Stokes Market strives to maintain the generational goals & values in order to provide an exceptional shopping experience for their guests. In a world where the competitors are the largest corporations on earth, Stokes remains a small company that is family owned and operated where customer service comes first.

We offer a clean, bright, modern store, with the freshest meats, deli, produce, and bakery. In many ways we are very old fashion. We scratch bake with fresh donuts and breads every day. Our meats are always cut in store and are local, fresh, certified all natural and you will never see it with an ingredients list. We pride ourselves in the freshest produce year around. And if it is in season, then it is local as well!
