As part of EMS Week, today is dedicated to Education Day. Our EMS providers benefit from continuing education provided by the Southeast Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Consortium. We hope everyone had a great Trout Days Weekend! We’re switching gears now as today is the start of EMS Week! Thank you to all the EMS providers out there!

In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week™ to celebrate EMS professionals and the important work they do in our nation's communities. National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's frontline.

EMS Week is presented by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) in partnership with the National Associations of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).

Together, NAEMT and ACEP lead annual EMS Week activities. These organizations are working to ensure that the important contributions of EMS professionals in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of their communities are fully celebrated and recognized.

Many of your local services will have numerous activities in celebration of EMS week. Check their webpages or social media for events!

THANK YOU everyone who came out to our 14th annual Steak Dinner! The rain held off just long enough and the weather was great. A huge thank you goes out to the Fillmore County Cattlemen's, Oak Meadow Meats,Preston Floral and Gift,Preston Area Community Foundation,Preston Foods and Compeer Financial for helping make this event possible. Last but not least thank you to the amazing active and retired volunteers from the Preston Emergency Services. With the help of everyone we were able to serve over 700 meals last night! Yesterday, Ryan participated in the Tesmer Farm Safety Day, educating local 4th-grade students on crucial First Aid and Stop the Bleed techniques. Despite the chilly weather for May, the event successfully instructed hundreds of students in life-saving measures.
