CalvertHealth is currently experiencing a high volume of patients in the Emergency Department. Please know that we are prioritizing all emergent cases to ensure that those with the most urgent needs receive immediate care.

We remain committed to seeing every patient who turns to us for care, but wait times for non-emergent cases may be significantly longer during this period. For non-emergent illnesses or injuries, we strongly encourage seeking care through urgent care centers, Minute Clinics or your primary care provider whenever possible. This will help reduce wait times and ensure timely care for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Holiday treats, travel and traditions can make managing your diabetes feel like a holiday high-wire act. But balance is absolutely possible.

Plan ahead, portion mindfully and pace yourself through the festivities. Keep your meals steady, your movement regular and your blood sugar top of mind.

Small choices can make the whole season sweeter.

And do not forget that CalvertHealth holds monthly Diabetes Wellness Workshops on the second Tuesday of every month.

CalvertHealth is proud to be included in Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 518 hospitals with the lowest CAUTI rates.

Only nine hospitals in Maryland made the list, and we’re pleased to be recognized among them.

This reflects the consistent, day-to-day work of our clinical and support teams who remain focused on safe, high-quality care for every patient. Thank you to everyone who helps maintain these strong outcomes for our community.

A total of 518 U.S. hospitals have a catheter-associated urinary tract infection rate of zero, based on the healthcare-associated infections dataset from CMS. The Healthcare Associated Infections-Hospital database uses measures — developed by the CDC and collected through the National Healthcare S...
