Theology and Hypnosis

Hypnosis has been affiliated with the occult as a form of mind control and black magic. It has also been chastised by religious organizations stating that it is against God. I have researched what the Bible says about hypnosis and it is not mentioned. What is mentioned is anyone who practices divination, tells fortunes, interprets omens, a sorcerer, a charmer, a medium, a necromancer, or one who inquires of the dead (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). In my opinion, hypnosis is none of these things. However, a lot has to do with the hypnotherapist and the intent it is being used forβ€”good or evil. In my case, I use hypnosis for good and help a lot of people. I believe that God has given me a gift.

The Roman Catholic Church banned hypnotism until the mid-20th century. In 1965 Pope Pius XII approved hypnosis as a treatment by health care professionals with the following guidelines:

1. Hypnotism is a serious matter and not something to dabble in.
2. Precautions dictated by both science and morality must be followed.
3. Under the aspect of anesthesia, it is governed by the same principles as other forms of anesthesia.

Common Misconceptions about Hypnosis:

Despite its widespread use, there are many misconceptions about hypnosis. For example, some people believe hypnosis is a form of mind control or can be used to make people do things against their will. Others believe hypnosis is only effective for certain people or is a form of magic or mysticism.

In reality, hypnosis is a natural state of mind that can be induced in most people, and it is not a form of mind control or magic. Hypnosis can be effective for a wide range of conditions when used appropriately by a trained and ethical practitioner.

Hypnosis is a fascinating technique used for centuries to help people achieve their goals and improve their lives. Understanding the basics of hypnosis allows us to explore the potential benefits and overcome the misconceptions that may prevent us from fully utilizing this powerful tool.

The person must be willing to be hypnotized for hypnosis to work. I have had people ask me to try to hypnotize them to see if I can. I can’t because the person just wants to test their suggestibility and are not open to being hypnotized.

I also had a person that wanted me to make his wife fall in love with him again. I told him that I can help remove resentments, make her relax, and give her a clear mind to better assess their relationship but could not make her fall in love.

The term hypnosis is derived from the Greek word for sleep; however, science has shown that hypnosis is not actually related to sleep but it has been found to enhance the subconscious mind in a similar way.

Milton Erickson, a renowned American psychiatrist, was an expert in the field of hypnosis. He employed innovative language techniques to communicate with the subconscious mind and was well-known for his ability to alleviate symptoms, rather than focusing on identifying the root cause. His approach proved to be highly effective in hypnosis and is still widely used today.

Hypnosis has been practiced in various forms for thousands of years, with evidence of hypnosis-like practices found in ancient Egyptian and Greek culture. In the 18th and 19th centuries, hypnosis gained popularity in Europe as a medical treatment for various conditions.

In the 20th century, hypnosis became more mainstream and used for multiple purposes, including personal growth and entertainment.

Hypnosis practices have been documented since prehistoric times. The term hypnosis was created in the 1880s in France.

Hypnosis is a state of mind that involves amplified suggestibility, relaxation, and concentration. It is often induced through a hypnotic induction, including verbal suggestions, visualization, or other techniques. In hypnosis, a person may experience altered perceptions or sensations and a heightened focus on the present moment.

Hypnosis is a technique that has been used for centuries to help people achieve various goals, such as relieving stress and anxiety, quitting smoking, improving personal and professional performance, weight loss, mindset transformation, overcoming fear and phobias, as well as helping with other issues. Hypnosis is a state of heightened relaxation and suggestibility in which a person's conscious mind is bypassed, and their subconscious mind is more receptive to suggestions.

Hypnosis is a powerful therapy and I have been very successful in helping people in many areas, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
