Lauren Nagy Yoga Private Yoga & Meditation Instruction. Yoga is for everyone, no body is too old, weak or inflexible to benefit from the life transforming practice of yoga.

I teach a style of yoga which is compassionate and rich with insight as I incorporate asana (postures) to stretch, strenghten, tone, balance and detoxify to body; pranayama (breath/energy control) to learn how to harness and utilize energy; meditation to control the random fluctuations of the mind promoting focus and healthy thought habits; and kriya to cleanse the body and mind of impurities. Each class is tailored to the needs of the group or individual according to their level of fitness and interests.

One year as a family. It’s hard to express the onslaught of emotion that comes with this milestone. There is love and joy, there is exhaustion, there is some grief at the recollection of my birth story that didn’t go as planned. Maybe one day I’ll be able to articulate that here. But for now I am illuminated with bliss.

The road to becoming a mama has been more difficult, magical, and painful than I had ever imagined. I was acutely aware of the realities of pregnancy and birth beforehand but the lived experience has called up unfathomable change and growth.

From reckoning with body image issues, internalized misogyny and negative self talk, to navigating and accepting the shift in my energy, body, and priorities. My whole self is being molded by the experience of creating life and sharing my body with another being.

I’ve often asked myself, ”Is it selfish to bring a child into this fu**ed up, crumbling world?” And sometimes I think, yes. Though the trajectory of my life points to children and the deep healing of familial and relational bonds. From my natal birth chart, to my dreams, to my spiritual practice and relationships. Everything points toward generational healing which echoes out into the collective. The healing I’ve called forth in myself snowballs into the initiation of healing in my family. And now I feel part of my contribution to the healing of the future lies in raising healthy, regulated, passionate, and critically thinking children to carry the torch into a future I may not be a part of.

Life is funny and beautiful and yummy and scary and uncomfortable all at the same time. It just depends on how well you can love and what you choose to do with the time you are given.

Happy Moon-day friends. As we dip below the autumnal equinox, may we spend more time and energy moving within. Exploring the infinite caverns of wisdom, story, and emotion flowing in the depths of our selves. May we use this time to heal on every level to restore the brilliance of love and joy in our lives, our families, and our communities.

Monday is ruled by the moon. It is a great day for feeling, meditation, prayer, ritual, and all things that feed our spirit. May we walk in beauty.

Some plants are so special, so sacred, so powerful that you do not harvest her. When she graces you with her presence you simply bask in her beauty and offering your prayers and gifts. This is one of those beautiful teachers whose presence alone is a gift.
