Brandi Farmer, Director of the COMAT program at SHCMHC, had the opportunity to share her personal and professional experience before the WV House of Representatives Committee on Health & Human Resources at the WV State Capitol today. She spoke in support of HB 4599, which proposed changes to the WV Cares variance process, offering insight based on her real-world experience of navigating the system while advocating for other individuals seeking employment and stability in behavioral health settings.
As Director of COMAT, Brandi works daily to help remove barriers, support recovery-oriented and person-centered care, and ensure justice & fair opportunities for those she serves and leads.
Her testimony reflects Southern Highlands' commitment to advocacy and improving pathways to employment and recovery.
We are grateful for her leadership, professionalism, and willingness to engage in important conversations that impact the communities we serve!
