•I love the small maze that my office is in but, it shifts periodically like the stairs in Hairy Potter so its safest if you wait in the waiting area before your scheduled appointment. I will come find you.
*If you park in the back, enter the *left* rear entrance, follow the yellow carpeted hallway to the pink chair waiting area -it will be on your right side at the end of the hall. Don’t look in other directions, you may become lost & bewildered. Stay the course.
*If you park in the front, the pink chair waiting area will be to your left after entering the building. Don’t walk down the halls, they might send you to another realm. You’ve been warned.

Today was a beautiful breezy day & perfect for a Fall Wellness Fair hosted by Harmony and Health PLLC at Cornerstone Community Wellness, Inc.

Thank you Lisa Aber for the mention & thank you Lindsay Hohertz for inviting me ❤️

Kids & adults had a fun time playing basketball, even though those balls were very bouncy 🤭

I enjoyed some of the post-massage reactions - especially those of you that have NeVeR received massage therapy, or those of you that have waited far too long between massages.

My favorite post-massage reaction was a 9 year old that appeared to have traveled through both time & space.

I loved seeing a community come together to create a safe space for anyone interested in wellness. This free event was exactly what the world needs right now ❤️

The businesses that came out were literal Angels today. I feel so blessed to have participated in raising awareness for mental health & the mental health benefits of massage therapy.

Mental health looks different for each person.

✨When you feel so busy & you feel like you’re not going anywhere, try doing less.

It’s OK to slow down, breathe & just be.
It’s OK to take time for yourself & it’s definitely OK to try new things to feel better.

You do not need permission to feel better.

Everyone has their own puzzle.

✨Happy Homestead Week✨

I’m so proud of every client I’ve had for taking the steps to find the missing pieces to their puzzle.

You know your body better than anyone else.

Regular massage therapy has so many health benefits specific to each person. For me, massage therapy feels like fireworks across my body.

I love being massaged by other LMT’s.

Directly after a massage, I hydrate & listen to music with my eyes closed to let my body rest.
Sometimes I slip into a dream 💭

Allowing yourself the time to just •be• feels amazing.

A day after a massage, I feel like Mario {in MarioKart} after crossing a dash panel/boost pad. I also take note of any areas that feel sore & stretch or do some yoga poses ✨

I’ll be periodically sharing a page out of a book I was gifted called 101 ways to be less stressed.
I also added some info about apples - only because eating an apple is one of the simplest ways to care for yourself & I thought I’d share since I cant remember the last time I actually ate an apple 🤭

Sometimes we forget that some of our busiest muscles are internal. Keeping them working efficiently will only benefit your entire body ❤️

🚨 I’m providing some information about how to confirm your Licensed Massage Therapist is actually licensed &/or your LMT has been licensed while providing services to you.
*This information pertains to Illinois.

Ensuring your LMT is legit is your responsibility.
It’s the ethical & legal duty of the LMT to remain licensed & display their license where you can see it within their business, but let’s be honest, not everyone enjoys being ethical or legal.

‼️ Operating as a Licensed Massage Therapist while not actually being licensed {People claiming to be LMT’s or business owners claiming their employees are Licensed Massage Therapists} is misrepresentation & illegal.
Operating as a massage therapist for profit is illegal in Illinois. A license is required.

Licensed Massage Therapists have graduated from an accredited school that is recognized by the state, apply for, pay for & obtain a license {AFTER passing their state licensing exam - Passing the exam does not mean licensed}, complete the required minimum continuing education hours (online or in person) *every 2 years, reapply for, pay for & obtain a license renewal *every 2 years.
Much like other licensed professionals.

✨To find your Licensed Massage Therapist in Illinois, go to the License Lookup on the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation website ⬇️

🚨Your LMT’s license should be displayed somewhere visible in their place of business. Your LMT should supply their license number - it’s not a secret & should be available to you as the client🚨

Ask your LMT questions. If something doesn’t add up, don’t be a fool. You know addition.

An LMT that claims to be licensed in February, but the original issue date is November 🤔 or an LMT that claims to have been an LMT for 25+ years in Illinois but the original issue date reads 2018 🧐

There are too many shady business deals happening involving “massage therapy” that should 100% be called something else entirely.

Might be my protective instinct or just the fact that I simply hate misrepresentation & being manipulated.

Our bodies love sending us signals & since it doesn’t have the capability to scream at us, we usually detect something is off when we feel pain. Listen to your body & trust your instincts.

🧠 Your body & mind are connected. Your muscles can hold on to experiences like trauma. Some of us subconsciously guard certain parts of our bodies that have been hurt, which can lead to muscular atrophy, contracted muscles & range of motion limitations.

❤️I’m completely in love with massage therapy.
I expect my massage therapist to identify areas on my body that feel more tense than others, areas that I guard & muscles that I need to work on (strengthen &/or stretch). So those are some things I love to share with you at the end of your session 🤗
