IN LOVING MEMORY
William Harold "Willie" Harper, 44, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1981, in Caldwell County, to his late parents, William Clark and Charlotte Rose Cansler Harper. Willie never walked into a room, he sauntered in with a happy grin. A 1999 graduate of Caldwell County High School, Willie channeled his passion for teamwork from his soccer days into saving lives as a volunteer firefighter for 11 years. You could always count on him for a laugh or a helping hand.
Willie was serving his first term as Caldwell County Jailer. He was also known for his detailing business and riding around in his Jeep, not just making vehicles shine but brightening days with his presence. Humor was his currency, laughter his legacy. To know him, was to experience life a few chuckles louder. Willie lived his life with the enthusiasm that others could only hope to catch.
A beloved husband to Candace Marie Washam Harper for 18 years, his love story was funnier and with more splash than Venture River, where they met in 2007. Family was Willie's cornerstone. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two boys, William "Zaiden" Harper and James "Camden" Harper; sisters, Diane Meeks of Princeton, Rhonda Rushing of California; three brothers, Greg Harper of Princeton, Lonnie Swatzell of Princeton, and Randy Swatzell of South Carolina; along with a fleet of nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dewight Meeks; and niece, Carrie Meeks.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23. 2025 at Morgan's Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Faughn and Judge Jamus Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Asher Cemetery.
