IN LOVING MEMORY

Michael Wayne McAlister, 55, and Laura Anne McAlister, 57, a devoted couple of Princeton, passed away tragically together on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Caldwell County. Their bond in life was unbreakable, and it remained so in passing.

Michael was born on May 19, 1970, in Princeton to his parents, Earl Wayne and Gail McAlister of Dawson Springs, while Laura was born on September 13, 1968, in Madisonville to her father, Robert Littlepage of Madisonville, and her late mother, Dorothy Littlepage.

Michael proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, where he once survived being struck by lightning during active duty, a story he often shared with humility and humor. After his service, he continued to serve his community as a retired unit administrator for the Western Kentucky State Correctional Complex. A proud member of the Princeton VFW, Michael was known for his love of the outdoors, especially goose hunting, and for the unwavering support he offered his parents throughout their lives.

Laura retired from Walmart in Princeton as the electronics department manager. Known for her sharp mind and warm personality, she was a beloved co-worker and friend to many. Together, Michael and Laura shared a passion for riding motorcycles, often joining rides as active members of the Four Rivers HOG Chapter in Paducah. They were also longtime members of Moose Lodge #285, where they enjoyed the fellowship of many close friends.

The McAlisters were inseparable partners in all aspects of life. One of their proudest shared accomplishments was raising prize-winning labradors, a testament to their love for animals and the care they put into everything they did. Their presence will be deeply missed by all who knew them, but the memory of their love and the lives they touched will endure.

They are survived by their son, Michael "Brandon" McAlister of Princeton; Laura's sister, Debra Vankirk of Madisonville; Michael's sister, Kimberly (Kevin) Shepard of Custer; Laura's three brothers, William "Randy" (Gloria) Littlepage of Nortonville, Robert Douglas Littlepage of Madisonville, James Wesley (Tammy) Littlepage of Goodlettsville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Laura's mother, they were preceded in death by Laura's brother, Michael Owen Littlepage.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton.

Funeral services for Michael and Laura will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home with Bro. George Brooks and Bro. Mike Jicka officiating.

Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Grapevine Cemetery in Hopkins County.

George Richard Storm, known affectionately as Richard to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on March 18, 1941, in Caldwell County, KY, Richard's life was marked by his enduring love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, and his devotion to his faith. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. His beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Kay Williams Storm, stood by him through every season of life. Together, they raised their son, Richard Paul Storm, who, with his wife Christie, continued to nurture the family values in Princeton, KY. His three grandchildren, Annalie Thompson (Ben), Alexia Gordon (Jeremy), and Lindsey Chewning (Jonathon), along with his six great-grandchildren, Miles and Madeline Chewning, Logan Gordon, Kinsley Ramey, Levi Ramey, Adaline Thompson, and several nieces and nephews will cherish the countless memories of joy and wisdom he imparted.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William Guy Storm and Georgia Irene Huffman Storm, daughter, Melissa Anne Storm and brothers, Guy "Bill" Storm, Jr. and James "Jim" Allen Storm.

Before retiring, Richard was a valued employee at ITT Grinnel in Princeton, KY and retired from U-Carbon in Clarksville, TN. Retirement years were spent indulging in his many hobbies, which included a love for woodworking, a skill he passed down through the generations. In his younger days, Richard's musical talent shone through as he played guitar in a band, bringing joy to those who heard him play. An avid outdoorsman, Richard found peace in the simplicity of nature. Be it hunting, fishing, or tending to his garden, he embraced every opportunity to be outside.

Richard's unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a dedicated member of the Southside Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for over 45 years, touching countless lives through his ministry and service. His Christian beliefs guided him and provided a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him. Richard's life was one of purpose and joy. His memory will be held in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to inspire love, faith, and family devotion for generations to come. His passing is a solemn occasion, yet we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will resonate with warmth and affection forevermore.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, September 29, 2025 at Morgan's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church, 205 Nichols Street, Princeton, KY 42445 with Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiating. Burial will follow in the Rogers Cemetery in Christian County, KY.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Ronnie Darnell, of Princeton, went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 23, 2025, at the age of 74. Ronnie was born on September 22, 1951, to the late Garland and Delores Cunningham Darnell.

He graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1969, affectionately known as "the 69-ers". He frequently checked on his classmates and looked forward to the monthly reunion lunches. He relished the company of his classmates and friends. He later joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam Conflict as an air traffic controller where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, 1st Aviation Brigade. After leaving the military he enjoyed a career with South Central Bell, BellSouth and AT&T. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Communication Workers of America and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working in his yard. He had a special bond with his grandson, where you found them frequently working on their trucks together.

Ronnie was a man of strong Christian faith that was apparent in his smile and positive outlook. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and always made time for his daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighborhood children, and whoever needed a little extra attention and love.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ladonna Curling Darnell; one daughter, Tonya (Anthony) McGowan of Princeton; two grandchildren, Ladonna Brooks (Robert) Johannemann of Owensboro and Aidan Darnell McGowan of Princeton; one great-grandchild, Ryatt Brooks Johannemann; brothers, David Anthony (Sherrie) Darnell of Madisonville, William Kent (Suzanne) Darnell of Princeton and several nieces and nephews and his loving canine companion Bud.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Jerry Randall Darnell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Morgan's Funeral Home Princeton, KY, with Bro. Dane Hodges and Bro. Kyle Noffsinger officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Kathy Lear Alexander, passed away on September 20, 2025, in Princeton, Kentucky where she born on March 26, 1957. Her 68 years on this Earth were marked by unwavering kindness and an all-encompassing love that endeared her to all who had the good fortune to cross her path.

Kathy, as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, was a wellspring of joy and an inspiration to many. With her hands, she cultivated not only the blossoms in her cherished garden but also the hearts of every individual she met. Her love for gardening was evident in the vibrant flowers and lush greenery that surrounded her home.

A grandmother extraordinaire, Kathy's adoration for her grandchildren knew no bounds. Their visits were the highlight of her days, ensuring the house was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the irresistible scent of her cooking. Her culinary skills were well-known; friends and family often gathered around her kitchen table to indulge in the comfort of her homemade meals, woven with the same love and care that she infused into every aspect of her life.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Nicole Nichols of Princeton; son, Chad (Patricia) Childress of Princeton; brother, Timothy (Alana) Lear of Fredonia; grandchildren, Andrew Hillyard, Aaron Hensley, Audrey Hensley, Tyrus Childress, Saylor Childress and Payton Childress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix Aaron and Mildred Alice Cruce Lear.

A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.

IN LOVING MEMORY

John Harrison Presler II passed away peacefully at the age of 79 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center, Paducah KY on September 21, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 18, 1945, in Princeton, KY, John proudly served in the United States Army and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. After graduating from Western Kentucky University as a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, John began what would be a forty-year career as an accountant with the firm of Thurman Campbell Group PLC. In 2011, the firm dedicated its local office building on Main Street in Princeton to honor him for his years of exceptional leadership. John was the firm's ambassador in Princeton and expanded the presence of Thurman Campbell Group PLC to serve clients in Caldwell and surrounding counties.

John was a community builder. He joined the Princeton Kiwanis Club in 1974 and was a member for 51 years, where he held various offices, serving longest as treasurer. In 1990, he was named a distinguished Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis KY-TN District and held the distinction of being a George F. Hixson Fellow in Kiwanis International. His leadership skills were also assets to The United Givers Fund, The United Way, and The Princeton Water Department serving as board chairman for all three organizations. John was also a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge, where he held many offices, including two terms as Exalted Ruler. John was an instructor for the Hunters Education Program and a willing volunteer for many local boards, committees, and community events. He was a member of the Ogden United Methodist Church.

John enjoyed playing golf with his wife and friends. His greatest, life-long pleasure came from hunting quail and training bird dogs. John's numerous hunting trips took him to Texas, Kansas, and Iowa, and provided many favorite memories that he loved to share with family and friends. John was a devoted member of the alumni of the Caldwell County High School Class of 1964. He checked on classmates, looked forward to monthly gatherings, helped plan class reunions, and served as treasurer of the class funds. One of his greatest joys was creating and maintaining his beautiful yard at the family's home on Hillcrest Drive. John tended to his collection of heirloom iris and hyacinth bulbs from his grandparents' farm and peony bushes from his parents' home. Deep roots and connections to Princeton and Caldwell County provided the foundation for his pride in his home and community.

John's love and devotion for his wife, children, and grandchildren will be lasting blessings that he left to his family. His support of his children and grandchildren was steadfast. He instilled in them the quality of being self-reliant, problem solvers. Through his final years when travel was impossible, John made frequent phone calls to his family and friends to remain an active part of their lives. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Cash Presler; two daughters, Emory Spradlin (Dave) of Saint Augustine, Florida, and Paige Presler-Jur (Jess Jur) of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandchildren, John David Spradlin and Addison Lee Spradlin; brother, Paul Edward Presler (Betty) of Lexington, Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Harrison "Bill" Presler and Dorothy Ann O'Hara Presler, brother, Thomas O'Hara Presler, and his grandparents, Earnest Warner and Marion Carloss O'Hara, and Ivan and Edna Little Presler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any of the three organizations most meaningful to John: the Princeton Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 752, Princeton, Kentucky 42445; the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Morgan's Funeral Home. The funeral services will be on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Ogden United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, Kentucky. A celebration of John’s life follows at the Princeton Golf Club, all are invited to attend.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Joycelyn Faye Green Jones, age 95, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025 at Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Joycelyn was born August 19, 1930 to the late Basil and Gertrude Slater Green. She grew up in Windsor, Illinois, surrounded by a loving extended family and many friends.

She was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois upon graduation. She married Thomas W. Jones of Fredonia, Kentucky in 1953. They established their household in Fredonia upon the birth of their first child and Joycelyn began her teaching career. She taught 4th grade for one year, then choose to raise her family upon the birth of their child. Later, she became a graduate of Murray State University with degrees in Education and Administration. Joycelyn's career in education spanned 30 years as a classroom teacher and administrator. She became the first woman principal in Caldwell County and the first principal of the Caldwell County Primary School.

Joycelyn was a long-time member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fredonia. She taught adult Sunday School for many years and was the church librarian. Joycelyn and Tom served on the first Board of Directors for Bright Life Farms. They helped bring the dream to life of building a community for adults with special needs that could live independently. Joycelyn spoke in many churches and organizations to raise funding for the endeavor.

Joycelyn is survived by her children, Trudy (Stan) Bramblett of Princeton, Dena (Paul) Duncan of Reidland, Todd Jones of Fredonia and Megan (Jay) McCoy of Maryland; grandchildren, Ryan (Karen) Boisture, Erin (Johnson) Dorroh, Frank (Emma) Plew, Sean (Ruby) Plew, Austin Rushing, Luther (Lena) Bramblett, Jason (Dawn) Bramblett, Nathaniel Duncan, Trent (Jessica) Duncan, Brandi (Tim) Binkley, and Lauren (Chris) Borodenko. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Joycelyn was the beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Jones for over 50 years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dee Aldridge; and her brother, Harry A. Green.

Funeral services will be held on 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton, KY with Rev. Trent Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Morgan's Funeral Home.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Affectionately known as “Ivy” by his friends, Marion Ivy Phelps passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the home of his daughter in Crestwood, KY. He was one of eight children born to the late Reg and Vivian Phelps. A man of deep devotion to his family, his friends, and his faith, Ivy was a lifelong member of the Fredonia C.P. Church, where he had served as Elder and Song Leader for many years. His commitment to community was evident through his involvement in the Masonic Lodge, the Fredonia Heritage Society, and the Fredonia Valley Riding Club.

Ivy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Laura Kathryn (Brown) Phelps; his sons, Kevin and Chris Phelps; two brothers, Jerry Phelps and Bro. Don Phelps; and son-in-law Anthony “Tank” Hillyard.

Lovingly known as “Pop” to his family, he is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Phelps) Hillyard, and his son, Marion Anthony “Tony” Phelps. He also leaves behind three brothers, Bill (Linda) Phelps, Darrell “Buzz” (Faye) Phelps, and Doug (Kaye) Phelps; and two sisters, Nancy Carroll (Phelps) Huffstutter and Margie (Phelps) Carner. His legacy continues through his grandsons, Joshua Hillyard and Seth (Jessica) Hillyard of Louisville, KY, and seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Maddie, Lucy, Dylan, Lucas, Sam, and Owen.

The world has lost a timeless storyteller whose laughter was infectious and whose presence could light up any room. May his kindness, loving spirit, and cherished memory remain as a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Rowland Cemetery in Fredonia.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Morgan's Funeral Home with Masonic rites following at 7:00 p.m.
