In Loving Memory

Leola "Lee" Anderson, passed away at the age of 96 on the last day of the year 2025, at Baptist Health of Paducah. She was born on May 3, 1929, in Ashley County, Arkansas.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilford J. "Butch" Anderson, Leola's, father, Linnie Doss, mother and father, Leida Roark Pope and Wylie Pope, and 10 siblings. She was the loving mother of Dee Ross of Kansas City, KS, Sandra Monroe of Princeton, KY, Doris Belcher of Princeton, KY, and her son Joseph "Joe" Anderson of Princeton, KY. Through her children, Lee's legacy blossomed with her grandchildren, Mary Richardson, Ronda Gray, April Maulsby, Bobbi Jo Dunlap, Angie Nichols, Josh Monroe, Jessica Rogers, Perry Odell, Amber Spears, Megan Curtner, Brittany Wray, Nathan Anderson, and Elijah Anderson, as well as 30 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

During World War II, Lee served her country with determination, working in an ammunition factory, contributing to the war effort. Her resolve during those times was a testament to her character, resilient, committed, and patriotic. After the war, she continued to dedicate her time and energy to her community, becoming a familiar and welcoming face as a greeter for Wal-Mart, with her bright smile.

She was happy when indulging in her favorite pastimes of playing Bingo, cards, and quilting.

Her departure is a loss to all who were fortunate enough to know her, as she leaves behind cherished memories and an example of a life well-lived. She will be remembered as a woman who was the cornerstone of her family. Leola "Lee" Anderson's love and kindness will continue to reside in the hearts of those she loved.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Morgan's Funeral Home.

Funeral services will held Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Morgan's Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Noel officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Tristian "Trissy" Rayeanne Frost, age 27, of Fredonia, passed away December 29, 2025 at Crittenden County Hospital.

Trissy was born September 2, 1998 to James Arnold (Rebecca) Frost and the late Tanya Harris-Frost. Trissy Frost was a beloved member of the Fredonia community and a familiar, friendly face at the Dollar General, in Eddyville, where she worked and brightened the days of everyone she met. A true social butterfly, Trissy never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. She was known for her kind heart, joyful laughter, and generous spirit, always willing to give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She was an avid reader, dedicated fan, and fun loving soul. Above all else, Trissy loved her family, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She held friendships as close as family and ensured those she cared about knew her love for them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her father and step-mother, she is survived by sisters, Devin Frost of Benton, Hannah Lynch of Princeton and Megan Burton of Eddyville; brother, Liam Burton of Eddyville; nephews, Leeland and Jaxon Barnett; grandmother, Delores Frost of Eddyville; aunt, Melissa Frost-Drish, uncle, Robert Harris; aunt, Shelia (Tom) Beverly; cousins, Ariel (Taylor) Phelps, Chaney Baker and Benji (Taylor) Baker, Kai Baker, Darius Cain and Gregory Cain, RJ Harris and Maddy Harris, Khloe Phelps and Jake Phelps; her Godfather Tony Phelps; best friend who is like a sister, Shae Duvall; her best friend’s family of Randa (Chris) Putnam, and many beloved friends.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martha Harris and Arnold Frost.

In Loving Memory

Jerry "Spike" Patterson, a man known for his spirited zest for life and his need for speed, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Greenville, KY, at the age of 84. Born on October 3, 1941, in Caldwell County, KY, Spike was a man who lived his life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell Donald Patterson and Geneva Cooper Bates, and his siblings, Peggy Cochran and Steven Patterson.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Baugh, and her husband, Kevin; step mother, Jeri Patterson; his bonus daughter, Charly Todd, and her husband, Jacob; and his son, Ryan Patterson, and his wife, Robin, they were the centerpieces of his life. Spike's legacy continued through his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Baugh, Dallas Gould, Jonah Gould, Nathan Carson, Gaven Gould, and Tori Walker, and his great-grandchild, Aubrey Gould, sister, Stacey Patterson, and brother, Dan Patterson.

Spike's professional life was marked by his dedication and hard work as a retired electrician for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Through his professional endeavors, Spike served his country with pride in the Army Reserve, where he learned the value of service and community.

Spike's interests were as bold and dynamic as his personality. He had a passion for racing his Nova. His garage was a place where he could tinker with mud trucks and indulge in his love for 4-wheeling. Spike's membership in the Shriners was a testament to his commitment to brotherhood and community service.

Spike's spirit will continue to race through the memories of those he leaves behind, reminding them to embrace every moment with the same fervor and passion he did.

Jerry "Spike" Patterson, had a life well-lived, a race well-run. He has crossed the finish line of life with the same gusto with which he lived it, leaving us with cherished memories and hearts full.

Mrs. Peggy Childress Gilkey, 79, of Newburgh, Indiana, and formerly of Princeton, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare - Woodlands in Newburgh, IN.

She was the daughter of the late James and Geneva Childress. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gilkey; her son, James Barnes; her sister, Anna Jeanette (Childress) Gilkey; and her brother, Michael Childress.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Chris Gilkey (Alicia); grandchildren, Taylor Gilkey, Nathan Gilkey (Brenna), Lauren Herr (Max), and Lindsey Gilkey (Daniel Durchholz); great-grandchildren, Elsy Gilkey, Beau Gilkey, Gretchen Herr, and Anderson Herr; her niece, Carrie Childress; her brother, Brad Childress (Teresa).

Peggy attended Caldwell County High School in Princeton, Kentucky, and worked for many years in the restaurant business in Princeton. She was a charter member of the Caldwell County, Kentucky Genealogical Society, a member of the Tri-State Genealogy Society, Friends of Willard Library, and Friends of the Glenn A. Martin Genealogy Library.

Peggy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Princeton, KY. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ohio Valley Chapter, in Evansville, Indiana, where she served as Registrar. Alongside her husband, Kenneth, she also served as Webmaster for the chapter website for 11 years and participated in numerous parades and community events.

Peggy devoted her life to family, history, and service. She was a proud Kentucky Colonel and a passionate genealogist who spent countless hours preserving family stories and histories so future generations would always know where they came from. Her dedication to heritage was more than a hobby-it was her legacy. Peggy will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Fairview Cemetery.

Rosie Brown, 91, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed on December, 2, 2025 at Asbury Court Supportive and Independing Living in Des Plaines.

She was born on March 24, 1934, in Lyon County, Kentucky, to her late parents, Dixie and Anna Gray Oliver. Rosie’s life was shaped by her warm spirit and the many places she called home. Raised in Lyon County, Kentucky, she later lived in Tennessee and spent cherished years in Michigan while her husband worked at the University of Michigan, one of her favorite chapters in life. Eventually settling near Southern Illinois University, she worked as a secretary supporting international students. She and her husband opened their home with joy, welcoming students from around the world and forming friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Rosie’s kindness extended to every corner of her life. She loved animals, especially her beloved poodles, and she absolutely adored her three great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Known for her helpful, caring nature, she was wonderfully social and rarely missed a luncheon with her circle of friends.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Ann Ladd of Hopkinsville; granddaughter, Carolyn Rose Crespo of Chicago, IL; three great-grandchildren, Mayah, Michael and Matthew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linz Carol Brown; daughter, Vicki Leny; two sisters, Ella Marie Wright, Christine Oliver; two brothers, Charles Oliver and Roy Oliver.

Private services were held. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, Kentucky with Morgan's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles “Red” Howton, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Caldwell Medical Center.

Red had a lifelong passion for fishing and farming, finding joy and peace in the outdoors he cherished. He loved his family deeply and took great pride in caring for them. A faithful member of Ogden United Methodist Church, Red lived his life with quiet strength, devotion, and kindness. He was born April 7, 1936 to the late Roy Davis and Aminell Holeman Howton.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Teresa (Donnie) Scott of Princeton; sister, Margarette Sigler of Princeton; brother, Ronnie Howton of Marion; beloved grandchildren, Bryan (Toni) Martin and Abby (Rob) Hodge; great-grandchildren, Joel Martin, Graham Hodge, Greyson Hodge and Hunter Hodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Howton; sister, Joycedene Simpson; infant brother, Gary Davis Howton.

Lisa Hughes of Fredonia passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Lisa was born on March 16, 1962, in Santa Ana, California, to the late James Lewis France and Barbara Ellen Umstead. She previously worked for Bremner for 20 years, where she was honored as the first woman “Boss of the Year” in 2009. Her work ethic was exceptional, and she once said, “A boss is only as good as those who work for her and perform their jobs above and beyond.” She later retired from U.S. Smokeless To***co as a quality sanitation manager.

Lisa highly valued education and instilled this love of learning in her daughters and grandchildren. Exceptionally intelligent, she graduated cm sum laude from her college class. She was of the Baptist faith and loved traveling, antiques, and spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished the thrill of Black Friday shopping and always upheld the cherished family tradition of buying Hallmark ornaments for each family member. Lisa will also be deeply missed by her dog, Toby, and her beloved chickens.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Wayne Hughes of Fredonia; three daughters, Tiffany & Shandy Ellis-Brown of Clarksville, TN, Shawna Ogle & Will Fletcher of Princeton, KY, and Dani & Chris Gray of Clarksville, TN; three stepsons, Sebastian Hughes of Clay, KY, Coty & Jasper Hughes of Louisville, KY, and Austin & May Hughes of Christinia, TN; one brother, Gary France of Princeton, KY; and ten grandchildren: Rylie Ellis-Brown, Ansley Ellis-Brown, Briawna Scimeca, Fionah Scimeca, Maxwell Scimeca, Kaden Ogle, Declan Gray, Dawson Gray, Grayson Hughes, and Henry Hughes.

She will be laid to rest with her beloved dog, Mia.

IN LOVING MEMORY

William L. “Bill” Holloway, age 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 12, 2025 at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, Kentucky. He was born on March 22,1930 in the Friendship Community of Caldwell County.

Caldwell County lost an honorable citizen in Bill. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, friend to all and a Kentucky Colonel. But most of all he was a faithful Christian.

Bill was a Navy Veteran proudly serving his country in the Navy for two stints from 1947 to 1954. He worked for South Central Bell for 32 years before retiring. Then he continued doing contract work for them several years maintaining their buildings and property. In addition to serving his country and working with the phone company, Bill maintained a 130-acre farm raising cattle, pigs, and horses. He was certified as an Artificial Insemination Technician, so he could raise several different exotic breeds of cattle. In 1975 he decided to sell his farm, livestock, equipment and move to town. That is when he began expanding his rental properties, At one time he had 20+ houses that he rented. Bill was also a certified heating & cooling technician, enabling him to perform repairs to his rental property and the phone company’s buildings. He was a hard-working man, never shying away from a difficult task until his health began to decline.

He liked to collect rocks. For his 80th birthday he was greeted with a surprise birthday party and everyone was asked to bring a rock of special significance, shape or color. Every time he or family member would travel, a rock from their visit would find its way back into Bill’s collection.

Mr Holloway was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church, serving in several different capacities. He was instrumental in the construction of the educational building and new sanctuary. He taught Sunday School for several years and loved to sing and enjoyed doing so even to his last days at Rivers Bend.

Bill was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone at any time. His eagerness to help others was evident as his life was a true testament of faith and service to family, church, friends and community.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lucille Brauser Scott Holloway, daughter Melanie Diann Holloway of Paducah, Step daughters, Brenda Scott Graham of Greenville FL, Mari Gwyn Scott Littlefield of Pearland, TX, Lori Jo Scott Tugman and husband Jim of Leland, NC, step son Bruce Scott and wife Lissa of Princeton, KY. Along with several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandson, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friend Karen Brown.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents George Lee Holloway, mother Bertie Lee Parrent Holloway, sisters - “May” Holloway Gray, Mary Holloway Patterson, brothers - Cash, Roy, Jerry and Sidney Holloway, and son - William Louard “Louie” Holloway Jr.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 1pm. Rev. David Royality will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Princeton, KY.

Ronnie "Ron" Turner, I, a husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 75 in Marion, Kentucky. Born on July 2, 1950, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Ron lived a life marked by love, faith, and service to his family.

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Katherine Lee Lipscomb Turner, who was his steadfast companion and best friend. Together, they celebrated life’s joys and faced its challenges side by side. He was the proud father of Betsy Perkins and her husband, Greg, of Henderson, KY; Angela Thurmond and her husband, Joe, of Henderson, KY; and Ronnie W Turner, II, of Eddyville, KY. He cherished his grandchildren, Jacob, Magan, Isaac, Isabelle, Kaitlynn, Gabriel, Olivia, Benjamin, and Dominic, as well as his great-grandchildren, Levi, Hunner, Asher, Jase, Ezra, Gabriella, Sianna, Rylee and Gideon.

Ron was a brother to Kathy Lynn Cobb and her husband, Gary, of West Branch, Michigan; Patricia Hill of Newport, Michigan; Mary Therecia Braden of LaSalle, Michigan; Rhonda Kundrat and her husband, Bob, of Monroe, Michigan; Greg Turner and his wife, Rebecca, of Monroe, Michigan; Jimmy Turner of French Town, Michigan and Brian Keith Turner and his wife, Cindy of Sequachee, TN.

Ron attended the Second Baptist Church of Eddyville, where he found joy in fellowship and worship. He served as deacon at LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church in LaSalle, Michigan, where he sang in the choir and shared his passion his wisdom with the youth.

Those who knew Ron understood his love for singing, an activity that brought him immense joy. His love for the outdoors was surpassed only by his love for spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Ronnie Turner was preceded in death by his father, James Turner; mother, Euritha Smith Turner; and sister Euritha Gay Congioloso. All who knew him will remember him as a gentle soul, a man whose presence was reassuring and inspiring. He left a positive impact on his family, and friends.

Nancy "Nan" Love Allison, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at the age of 47, in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on June 23, 1978, in Caldwell County, Kentucky to the late, Christy Dalton Wyatt.

Nan was married 22 wonderful years to her husband, Robert Austin Allison. She was mother to three remarkable daughters: Denver Jolie Francis of Princeton, KY, Edith Marie Gray of Princeton, KY, and Olivia Grace West of Princeton, KY. She was a grandmother to Katelynn Rose Oliver, Alan James Gray, and Corbin Scott West.

Nan spent countless hours as a cashier at Wal-Mart, and, was an active participant in her local church, Calvary Baptist.

Nan's passions extended beyond her work and church life. She enjoyed board games, a skill she often used to bring her family and friends together. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and her family will fondly remember the love she poured into every meal she prepared.

She lived life with a gentle touch and a caring heart and had a great sense of humor.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, leaving behind memories that will be cherished.

In Loving Memory

William Burton Strong, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Madisonville, Kentucky. Born on August 4, 1931, in Caldwell County, KY, he was a man of integrity, unwavering strength and deep love for his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fredonia.

Burton was a veteran of the Korean War Era. Upon leaving the Air Force, Burton worked several years in maintenance at Hopkins Co. Hospital, eventually retiring from the State of Kentucky DOT as an electrician serving eleven counties.

He had a keen interest in collecting and caring for fi****ms, dedicating hours to their meticulous cleaning and repair. His passion for mechanics transcended into a love for motorcycles, a hobby that brought him much joy and freedom.

Apart from his professional life, Burton at one time was the lead singer for the Golden Harmony Quartet. In his later years, he demonstrated his lifelong love of learning by venturing into learning to play the guitar.

Burton is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Luretta Marie Traylor Strong; daughter, Judy Bogle, and her husband, Tommy, of Princeton; his son, William Allen Strong, and wife, Sandra, also of Princeton. His love extended to his grandson, Shane Bogle and wife, Missy, of Princeton; and his great-grandchildren, Hannah and Brandon Bogle, and one niece and several nephews.

Burton was preceded in death by his parents, Elvie and Virginia Belle Calvert Strong; his sister, Rosella Horning; and brothers, Shelby and Buel Strong.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Morgan's Funeral Home on Monday, December 15, 2025. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 at 1:00 with Rev. Pressley Lamm officiating. Burial will follow in the McGregor Cemetery.
