We are proud to announce that Ansel Sullivan has been selected as our Employee of the Month for February 2026.

Ansel has been a cornerstone of our agency for decades. He began leading Maintenance in Gibson County on June 17, 1999, and later brought his expertise to Pike County when he transitioned to head their Maintenance on March 16, 2017. Throughout his long tenure, Ansel has demonstrated unwavering dedication and reliability.

Ansel consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that every building, every program, and every person is taken care of. During the recent winter storm, he made sure every residential and waiver home had the supplies they needed to stay safe until he could reach them. His commitment to our staff and participants never wavers, even in the most challenging circumstances.

His contributions over the years extend far beyond routine maintenance. Ansel played a major role in building and preparing the grant-funded rooms in the Art Center, remodeled the front office restrooms, and has built countless pieces of furniture that our employees rely on every day. His problem solving and steady presence keep the Pike County operations running smoothly.

He has assisted coworkers after hours, responded when someone is in need, and never asks for anything in return. His generosity and work ethic embody the very best of who we are as an agency.

Please join me in congratulating Ansel on this well deserved recognition and in thanking him for everything he does to support our mission and our team.

NEW: 9 U.S. states are suing the federal government to fight the "integration mandate," which allows people with disabilities to receive services in the community rather than in institutions. If they are successful, more people with disabilities may be forced into institutions, when they can and want to live in the community instead. The disability community has fought long and hard for strong disability rights laws, and we cannot allow them to be weakened.

Gratitude! 💛 Our hearts are overflowing.

The way this community shows up, again and again, is nothing short of amazing. The immediate response and support to help surprise Donnie with his new pedal-assist bike has us in our feels.

Transportation is more than simply getting from point A to point B. It represents freedom, dignity, and independence. But even that is eclipsed by something even more important: the friendships, connection, and community. When people come together with kindness and generosity, barriers fall and possibilities open.

Thank you to the nearly 20 families, businesses and organizations who made this happen. Your kindness matters more than you know.

And a special shout-out to Audrey, who quietly helped meet another need Donnie had long before this, without anyone knowing. That kind of heart is what makes this community so special.

💛🧡❤️

P.S. A huge shout-out to Ebike Escapes for taking the time to teach Donnie all about his new bike. From the best way to get on and off, to how to use all the gadgets, to recommendations on settings and making sure the bike was fitted perfectly to his needs. They were amazing to work with!
