No Sweat Yoga My name is Parker Ashurst. I was born in 1943 and began teaching yoga in 1999. I offer live Zoom chair classes MWF for every body. revised 04/16/23

My website has Kitchen yoga and more. We activate muscles, increase strength and flexibility from your nose to your toes. My name is Parker Ashurst and I was born in 1943. I began practicing Iyengar floor yoga in 1994. I started teaching what I called compassionate Iyengar floor yoga in 1999. In 2005 I took over a chair yoga class in a local Seattle community center. In 2008 I started leading a chair yoga class in the living room of my Kauai winter home. In 2010 I had to move to the local Kauai community center because I could no longer fit the class in our home. In 2013 we had 30 in the Kauai class for the first time. In 2010 I published YourNoSweatYoga.com to offer my workouts on the Internet. It started with NO SWEAT CHAIR YOGA for seniors. I added NO SWEAT RELAXATION for everybody. I added NO SWEAT RECOVERY for people with injuries. I added NO SWEAT KITCHEN YOGA because I do it all the time. I added NO SWEAT WARMTH YOGA to help keep off the chill. In 2020 COVID put an end to my in-person classes and I moved my live classes to Zoom. I now have participants from all over North America. I have seen and experienced the dramatic benefits from chair yoga. I have seen how I and my students live more comfortable, more active, more energetic, fuller, healthier lives. I have always been glad to bring this to my students but I wanted to make it available to more people so I started working on a web site that people from all over the world could access. In the next few months I will be introducing NO SWEAT DESK YOGA for the desk bound.

This means holding a wall sit for two minutes and resting for two minutes. Repeat for a total of four wall sits with breaks in between. A single session, including rest, will take only 14 minutes."

The wall sit, an isometric exercise, has been shown to help lower blood pressure better than other types of exercise.
