POV: You find yourself on a deserted beach and land in some favourite poses with a fave friend/yoga colleague.
A lil background: As you know I own and operate Stretch Every Day with online classes and in person classes, trainings and retreats. Kaila owns and operates Bambu Yoga Studio in Nelson BC, and offers the same, online classes as well as in person classes, trainings and retreats.
While we were floating/stretching in Cahuita. Costa Rica (aka paradise!!!) this weekend, these poses got us talking and we wanted to share how each of them makes us feel.  Yoga is so cool- there isn't one result for us all.  But one single pose can make us all feel different things! But that's just it, by moving the body we connect to the head and the heart. During and after the practice, we feel the feels and think the thoughts.
💃🏻Dancers Pose:
Kaila: "Cultivate your life"
Sarah: "Reach for that one thing that you really want"

💪🏼Warrior 3:
Kaila: "Steadiness and expansion"
Sarah: "ohhhh those are great words. For me its similar, stack vertically to expand horizontally"

⚖️Standing twist:
Kaila: "To hold two perspectives"
Sarah:  "Find peace in unexpected places (I love this pose!)"

👽Wild thang:
Kaila: "To do it (life etc) your way"
Sarah: "Flip that perspective!"

🛥Navasana:
Kaila: "To maintain composure over your emotions"
Sarah: "Oof love that response. For me its about starting the pose from the deep muscles first to then arrive into that place of more ease (sthira sukham asana)"
⬇️Which one lands for you?(share emoji!)
⬇️Or do you have another feeling for a specific pose from this sequence that you want to share? Drop it below we honestly do want to hear!!!!!

If you know anything about me you know I teach a lot about the core/pelvic floor/breath connection. It is the key to a healthy spine (beautiful pain free posture), natural organ alignment (no belly pooch), stable functionally fit body (prepared to support hard moments in your day), and balanced fascia (from those thorough thoracic breaths).
What's your favourite pose from this sequence? Share the #️⃣ in the comment section below!
1️⃣ Supine lateral taps with hypopressive breathing
2️⃣ Scissor legs with arm pulses to right, center then left before you lower and switch sides
3️⃣ Parivritta Navasana
4️⃣ Forwarm plank dip to extension
5️⃣ and 6️⃣ Side plank elbow to knee extensions to crunches
7️⃣ Side plank hold
8️⃣ Low lunge stretch it allllllllllll out

It can be hella-hard to tone the arms, I get it. Bookmark this one ladies, it can be done anywhere, takes just a minute and works to strengthen and tone shoulders, arms and core.

My son is 8 years old today!!! Looking back at this pregnancy photoshoot fills me with so much gratitude. I remember wanting to share how powerful and important yoga was during that season — not for staying “fit,” but for staying connected.
When I first became pregnant, I thought I would miss my power yoga practice. Instead, pregnancy became its own practice — softer, deeper, more intuitive. Prenatal yoga grounded my busy mind, supported my changing body, and helped me bond with my baby in the most beautiful way.
✨ Trimester reminders:
• 1st: Rest, modify, no intense core/inversions. Listen deeply.
• 2nd: Energy returns — move mindfully, avoid lying flat on your back.
• 3rd: Focus on breathwork, pelvic floor strength, meditation, fascia release, and supported flows.
Here’s the simple standing flow I loved (20–45 mins, let breath guide you):
🌿 Foot myofascial release (2 mins each foot with ball)
🌿 Wide-stance Surya A (cat/cow → downdog → step forward)
🌿 Modified Surya B (chair → low lunge → high crescent → repeat other side)
🌿 Tree pose (1 min each side)
🌿 Warrior 2 → Triangle → Exalted Warrior → Side Angle flow (both sides)
🌿 Goddess pose x5
🌿 Optional final modified Surya A
🌿 Finish with foot release + side-lying savasana
Pregnancy is an invitation to trust your intuition and honor the daily changes. Move gently. Breathe deeply. Stay connected.
Forever grateful for this practice and the journey into motherhood 🤍 Let me know if you're pregnant below or tag someone who could use it!
Thanks for following my journey here. Im so grateful to each and every one of you.

Watch the intro to core mapping, 1 video back on my feed, and then give this a try.
If you have low back pain or scoliosis this is a game changer!

I truly believe that we should do some form of stretching every single day. This site is designed to inspire your daily practice, give you ideas of how to progress, and provide tools to educate you on your body and its bio-mechanical movement patterns.

As a high school Science teacher, I have always been passionate about the human body, and now bring basic anatomy into each yoga class I teach.

Thank you for your commitment to your practice, and for providing me with the opportunity to continue to challenge both my practice and my teaching. Contact me for questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

In love and light always,
