Kauai has had my ❤️ since my first visit here to Noah's home in 2011. We moved here together after knowing each other only for 6 months- wild right? And honestly, it is where our love blossomed. (And its eventually where we conceived our son in 2017!)

But that first trip was something truly magical. It was my forst international trip ever at just 23 years old, fresh out of graduating university. I ran my first yoga retreats for the outrigger canoe club women I was paddling with. I paddled daily with our team in Hanalei and had an incredible coach who pushed me hard and saw my potential. I loved it. I volunteered at a community organic garden and helped write a grant to get seed saving equipment to help the island become more suatainable. I learnt how to surf with Noah pushing me into a million waves and surfed worldclass waves as an absolute beginner. We frolicked the Napali coast trail weekly on trail runs amd camping trips with friends. I got to know Noah so deeply during that first epic year.

Every single time we come back here we remember those days while building new memories together.

Stepping into this new year, the year of the fire dragon, I am ready for fierce powerful things to arrive. I am attracting abundance and health. I am feeling patient yet driven and I hope the same for each and every one of you.

May this year bring us all exactly what we are seeking. And as always, may we make time for ourselves each and every day.

Full disclosure: I’ve been on a totally different routine for the last two weeks. Less handstand training. Less mat time. Less teaching and taking classes. And honestly… I’ve loved it.

2025 was full on. A lot of fiery energy, fierce dedication, big goals, and plenty of “selfish” time to fill my own cup. One of the things I love most about Stretch Every Day is that I still live by that motto even when my routine shifts. Movement doesn’t disappear, it just comes in smaller, more sustainable doses. Always daily. Because I know what happens when I stop completely, and that’s not something I want for myself or anyone around me😅.

One year of straddle handstands.
December. November. September. July. May. March. January.
I have just loved working this one. I remember in January feeling so proud of the little space I could make between my legs. Now look at how low I am, the head position and spine retroversion with deep compression (no more arch in my spine)
Press to handstand is so damn close I can feel it!
Top tips for getting straddle: (Save for later!!!!)

1) Practice at wall endurance holds (face to wall)
2) Work on mobility middle split, isometric hold up high then sink into deepest middle split 15 seconds each X3 reps
3) Negatives at wall (face to wall) lowering into split pause at lowest then back up to straight hold at wall
4) Feet on stool work on floating up to middle split hold then compress and slowly lower negative.

When Dane was born, I knew life would get busy - but I didn’t know how busy until he grew into the curious, surf-loving, 7-year-old sprinting through my living room today to ask when we are going to the beach. Somewhere between teaching Science full-time, running my yoga business, and trying to remember where I left my coffee, I realized something essential: movement has to be simple, accessible, and realistic if we’re going to keep doing it. I KNOW you can relate to this too.

That’s why I started StretchEveryDay.yoga. Not as a polished brand, but as a lifeline... a way to weave anatomy-informed, feel-good movement into the chaos of real life. I wanted a space where you didn’t need a perfect schedule or a 90-minute practice. You just needed a mat… or a floor… or honestly, whatever space you could claim for five minutes.

Dane jumps into my practice now often and every time, I’m reminded why I built this. Movement shouldn’t be complicated. It should fit into the life you’re already living.

We’ll start by grounding into the breath and activating deep core connection before moving through gentle backbends and revitalizing twists. Then we build heat with a standing sequence that flows from low lunge and runner’s lunge into Warrior II and side-lunge variations. We’ll wind down with a soothing forward fold and settle into Child’s Pose for a calm, centered finish.

I truly believe that we should do some form of stretching every single day. This site is designed to inspire your daily practice, give you ideas of how to progress, and provide tools to educate you on your body and its bio-mechanical movement patterns.

As a high school Science teacher, I have always been passionate about the human body, and now bring basic anatomy into each yoga class I teach.
