Hear Your Song is a 501(c)(3) organization empowering children and teens with serious illnesses and complex health needs to make their voices heard through collaborative songwriting. Hear Your Song's volunteers work one-on-one with kids, in-person or remotely, to help them write their own lyrics on whatever topic they choose! Based on the lyricist's musical choices for style, instrumentation, and

more, Hear Your Song composers and musicians will then set the lyrics to music and bring the song to life through a professional recording. In addition to Hear Your Song's central organization, there are Hear Your Song campus-based chapters at Yale University, Smith College, Dartmouth College, Wellesley College, and CUNY Hunter College. Throughout its chapters, Hear Your Song currently maintains partnerships with Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, Camp Oasis (Crohn's and Colitis Foundation), Double H Ranch Camp, Camp AmeriKids (The ELM Project), the Hang Tough Foundation, and more! Hear Your Song is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth living with chronic illnesses to make their voices heard through songwriting and music production! We’re hoping to raise $10K through our May 5K to support collaborative programming for kids and families. 🎶
Here’s how to participate:

1) SIGN UP: Register for either the in-person or virtual race HERE. There is no required registration free, but you can make a donation to Hear Your Song if you choose during the registration process. When you register, you will automatically be emailed a link to your personal fundraiser page.

2) SPREAD THE WORD & FUNDRAISE: In the lead-up to the race, we encourage you to post about the May 5K For Hear Your Song on social media, using the hashtag , and link to your fundraiser page. You can also email or text your fundraiser page to friends and family.

3) COMPLETE THE RACE: On May 17th (if you’re participating in person) or between May 17th and May 31st (if you’re participating virtually), complete a 5K run, walk, or roll and share your journey through photos or video on social media using the hashtag !

Lauren Christy has co-written some incredible songs for Avril Lavigne like “Complicated” (Aoife’s favorite song to sing at karaoke) and “Sk8er Boi” 🤩
