Motivation Monday
People don’t know what they don’t know.
When stepping into something new — Pilates, yoga, Lagree, mat work, or any mind-body modality — it’s important to do your research about where you choose to practice. There is a difference between movement and truly guided movement.
When you find the rare “real thing” — instructors who have devoted years to comprehensive training, mentorship, self-reflection, observation, and continued education — the work becomes fascinating. No two days in the studio are ever the same. Not even the workouts. The body guides the instructor, and the instructor listens carefully enough to respond with intention, precision, and care.
That’s what makes this work so powerful.
I never worry much about the noise around us because I know we have a staff filled with passion, curiosity, and a commitment to keep growing. That matters more than trends ever will.
Please do your due diligence when exploring any modality. So many people never get to experience what Pilates truly is because quality teaching takes years of practice, feedback, refinement, and dedication. And unfortunately, yes — poor instruction can absolutely lead to injury or discourage someone from moving altogether. That’s the saddest part of all.
Maybe I sound old-school here, but to the Comprehensive Pilates Instructors of the world: I see you, and I stand with you.
At Re:Gen, our mission is to continue educating, evolving, and reaching more people through authentic movement.
This isn’t about getting angry at businesses trying to succeed. Celebrate them. Everyone has their path. We just have to keep speaking a little louder about the value of depth, education, and integrity in this industry.
Keep doing the work.
Keep learning.
Keep listening.
Everything always falls into place. Xoxo, Jen
