Dermatology, Mohs & Aesthetic Center Dr. Christie Matter and Dr. Susanne Lockhart had their own practice in Plano and Richardson from 2004-2017.

They then sold that practice to a corporation in 2017 but decided in 2021 they wished to resume their own private independant office. In February 2002 they did just that by opening Lockhart Matter Dermatology in Prosper. Being able to treat their new and long term patients is their greatest joy. In August of 2022, Dr. Kyle Owens joined us and patients have loved him as much as they have Drs. Matter and Lockhart. We truly enjoy treating families and patient of all ages from pediatrics through geriatrics. We believe in Beautiful Healthy Skin for Every Body and treating each patient as a person and not a body. It’s Surgical Tech Week, and we want to shine a spotlight on Nick!

Nick wears many hats here at Lockhart Matter Dermatology—Dermatology Medical Assistant, Mohs Histotechnician, and Surgical Technician—bringing over 17 years of experience to our team. While he enjoys every aspect of dermatology, his true passion lies in the surgical side.

Before joining us, Nick served as an Army Combat Medic with the 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq (2006–2007). His dedication to service doesn’t stop there—his 19-year-old twin sons are proudly following in his footsteps and serving in the military, too. 💪🇺🇸

We’re grateful for Nick’s skill, dedication, and heart both in and out of the office. 💙

It’s Surgical Tech Week, and we’re taking a moment to shine the spotlight on our amazing CST, Sonya!

A proud NOLA girl living in a Texas world, Sonya brings her vibrant personality, incredible skills, and love for patient care into every surgery she’s a part of. 💙

⚜️ Saints fan through and through (WHO DAT!), foodie, fall festival lover, karaoke queen (Whitney Houston is her go-to 🎤), line-dancer, organizer, and true fashionista—Sonya does it all. Outside of the OR, she’s a proud mom to one handsome son and fur baby Winston, and she loves sharing her passion for good food, family, and fun with everyone around her. 💕

Sonya’s journey into surgical technology began after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, when she relocated to Texas and started her program in 2006. Nearly 17 years later, she continues to make a difference every single day in the OR. She loves the purposeful, hands-on work, the fast-paced team environment, and—most of all—the chance to make a direct impact on patient outcomes.

We are beyond grateful for Sonya’s dedication, her energy, and her 17+ years of service. 💙

Today we’re celebrating our incredible surgical tech, Debbie, who has been in the field for over 30 years. 🙌

Debbie loves the fast-paced and engaging environment of our office, where she plays a vital role on our close-knit surgical team. She finds purpose in learning new techniques, supporting our amazing physicians, and most of all—helping patients improve their health and happiness every single day. 💙

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys fishing with her husband, baking, card making, crafting, and spending time with her family—including her two beautiful granddaughters. 🎣🎂🎨💐
