At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Prosper, recovery goes beyond time in the gym. Our team focuses on helping patients return to the activities that bring them joy and purpose.

For Iris Breed, that meant playing the piano. Before her discharge, Iris shared a special moment by sitting down to play a song, reminding us why rehabilitation matters. It was an honor to be part of her journey, and we wish her continued success as she returns to what matters most.

We are delighted to celebrate the progress of Terry Martin at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Prosper.

Terry came to our hospital after a fall that caused pain, balance problems and trouble moving. She also had difficulty swallowing after surgery. Her experience with us highlights the impact inpatient rehabilitation has on recovery.

During her stay, Terry worked hard and stayed focused on her goals. With the support of our care team, she regained her strength and independence. By discharge, she was able to complete all daily activities and move safely on her own.

Terry built strong connections with our staff and shared how happy she was with her care. Her success reminds us why rehabilitation matters and how dedication and support can lead to great outcomes.

Congratulations, Terry. We are very proud of you.

We are honored to celebrate the remarkable progress of Jim Gillen, whose decades-long career in professional sports has inspired countless athletes — and now inspires us. Jim spent four years as assistant athletic trainer for the Denver Broncos and 23 years as head athletic trainer for the Denver Nuggets. After a lifetime helping others reach peak performance, he faced his own challenge following cervical surgery for stenosis, radiculopathy, and spondylosis.

Jim arrived at Encompass Health Prosper requiring assistance from two people for mobility and basic daily tasks. With the support of our interdisciplinary team, he approached therapy with the same determination that defined his career. In just two weeks, he progressed from needing maximum assistance to walking laps through the hospital, climbing a full flight of stairs and completing most self‑care activities independently.

One of Jim’s greatest hurdles was swallowing. Through targeted dysphagia therapy, he was able to swallow soft and bite-sized foods and thin liquids by discharge.

His journey is a testament to perseverance and teamwork. We are grateful he trusted Encompass Health Prosper for his care. We are proud of all he accomplished. Join us in celebrating Jim’s incredible progress and wishing him continued success!
