Kinship Behavioral Health & Support is now a Parent-Directed Special Education Services Provider (PDSES)!

The PDSES program is a one-time $1,500 online grant for parents/ guardians of eligible students served by special education and who are enrolled in a Texas public school.

We love supporting our local ISDs and am grateful to be able to make a difference in our community.

The 2025-2026 application window will open in the Spring of 2026, please check back here for specific dates or you can sign up for PDSES email updates below.

Last week John had the pleasure of conducting a 3-hour virtual workshop for DFWRASP (Regional Association of School Psychologists). It was for their winter conference on the topic of 'Empowering Educators: Supporting Autistic Students in the Classroom.'

We love supporting our community and it is an honor to be alongside so many great professionals sharing the same mission. It takes a village and we sure are happy we are part of that DFW village!

What am I doing at the University of North Texas in Denton you ask? Teaching behavior principles to undergraduate students in the behavior analysis program. Part of our mission at Kinship Behavioral Health & Support is to educate our community by teaching the next generation of Behavior Analysts.

October 13-19 is OCD awareness week! The goal is to educate & advocate.

Did you know that 1 in 40 adults will develop OCD at some point in their lifetime?

For most of those people it will take YEARS to get a diagnosis because OCD is commonly misdiagnosed or unseen due to obsessional thought patterns not being expressed.

On top of being misdiagnosed, those individuals will not receive the gold standard treatment of exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD until after several trials of traditional talk therapy.

We do not assess and diagnose autism at Kinship Behavioral Health & Support, but we do have a vast network of professionals that do. If you are in need of a referral for testing, please contact us. We know providers who accept insurance, are out of pocket, test as young as 18 months and as old as 99 years of age. We are here to support our community in a variety of ways. (214) 494-1716.
