There are moments in your career that feel like a full circle—and this is one of them.

Eyediology Vision is incredibly honored to be recognized as one of the first Keratoconus Detection Centers in the country. This is more than a designation for us, it represents the heart of why this practice was built.

Keratoconus has always been deeply personal to the work we do. It’s one of the biggest reasons I opened Eyediology Vision 3.5 years ago. I wanted to create a space where patients who felt overlooked, misinterpreted, or without options could finally find answers, clarity, and hope.

Early detection changes everything. It allows us to preserve vision, intervene sooner, and most importantly, educate patients in a way that empowers them to take control of their eye health.

We’re grateful to Glaukos for leading this initiative and for helping bring reliable, direct-to-consumer education to the forefront. When patients are informed, they advocate for themselves and that’s when real impact happens.

Happy 2 years! I can’t tell you how happy I am to have you in my life. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with amazing women that have become more than just friends. Thank you for being a space where I can take care of my patients without fear, with the best tools, and with as much compassion as I want.

You have taught me so many lessons in the past two years. You’ve given me so many laughs, a constant supply of country music, and at the same time, some true tears down my cheeks. You’ve taught me to believe in “progress over perfection” and how to believe in the support system around you. The biggest lesson you’re helping me learn is to believe in myself with confidence.

Happy 1 year Eyediology Vision!

I don't even know where to begin in expressing my gratitude towards every person involved in the existence of Eyediology Vision. It's been a whirlwind of a year, that has FLOWN by. I can't believe how many wonderful patients we've had the opportunity to meet and help!

This office was created to be a palace where patients get treated like family, they get the education and understand what is going on with their eyes, and they are treated with the top of the line technology. I hope that we have been able to provide that as we are growing more and more everyday.

Thank you to each and every patient that has come through our doors. We appreciate you trusting us with your eyes!

High Index Lenses

Depending on your prescription, certain types of material can be more beneficial than others. When you have stronger prescriptions, this can mean thicker lenses and more irregularities through your lenses. The refractive index of the lens refers to the way the light bends to correct vision. Depending on the material and coatings, higher index materials can improve the quality of vision and make lenses lighter.

Check out this -11.00 pair of glasses! The first pair of lenses were made without higher index materials but the patient got lenses with higher index materials. Look at the difference in just the thickness of the lenses. Not only the thickness, but the patient noticed a huge improvement in the quality of vision and the amount of peripheral vision she had!

We see many patients with higher prescriptions! If you're curious, come in for an exam and a discussion on more appropriate lens materials for your prescription!

A corneal topography is a computer-assisted mapping technique of the front surface of the eye called the cornea. This diagnostic device helps map the high and low points of the cornea, creating a map-like image of the shape of the cornea; similar to maps of mountains and hills.

Every device is a little different from one another but the general idea is similar. The device emanates illuminated rings from a source and calculates the reflection back from the reflective surface. The calculations can be used to interpret data that allows us to check for corneal changes like astigmatism to more advanced corneal irregularities like keratoconus. These calculations are also commonly used in calculating surgical outcomes during cataract surgery. In our office, we use topography scans almost every day to help design specialty contact lenses, like orthokeratology lenses and scleral lenses.

In the coming weeks, we would love to share some interesting topography scans that we see in our office and how this diagnostic tool can help us change our patients' vision!
