The Adult Reconstruction Division at University Orthopedics, Inc. and Brown University Health had a strong presence last week at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

Our faculty participated in multiple educational and research sessions. Dr. Thomas Barrett was involved in several research abstracts presented by the team focusing on AI in orthopedics, hip and knee surgical approaches, and strategies to optimize patient outcomes. Dr. Eric Cohen led a session on complex total hip arthroplasty, while Dr. Derek Jenkins and Dr. Valentin Antoci moderated separate interactive Case Chats discussions on complex knee reconstruction.

The meeting also featured a keynote from Arnold Schwarzenegger highlighting the importance of musculoskeletal health, strength, and staying active throughout life. Proud of our team’s continued commitment to education, innovation, and bringing the latest advances in joint replacement care to Rhode Island and the surrounding communities.
