Skin cancer does not have an age requirement. We are seeing more and more young people diagnosed with skin cancer, which is why early detection and regular skin checks are so important.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and there is no better time to protect your skin, schedule your skin check, and encourage the people you love to do the same. A simple appointment could make all the difference.

At Lone Pine Dermatology, Dr. Cory Maughan is proud to provide specialized skin cancer treatment through Mohs surgery.
While many skin cancers can be successfully treated in our office, there are certain cases where a cancer extends deeper than what can safely or appropriately be treated in an outpatient dermatology setting.

In those situations, our priority is always the health and safety of our patients. We work closely with trusted surgical specialists and referral teams to ensure every patient receives the level of care they need for complete cancer removal and clear margins.

This patient’s care was a perfect example of teamwork between our office and a specialty surgical team to make sure her skin cancer was fully treated and she could move forward cancer free.

Skin cancer should never be taken lightly. Early detection truly matters, and the first step is scheduling regular skin checks and having any changing or concerning spots evaluated. Protecting your skin today can make all the difference tomorrow.
