We heal in community. Supporting one another is the very heartbeat of Providence and our small state. It’s hard to find the words right now.
The mass shooting at Brown University and within our Providence community has left many of us feeling a wide range of emotions- grief, sadness, anger, anxiety, and heartbreak.
We are here for you in the ways that we can during this impossibly difficult time.
At Roots, we will continue to hold space, as we always do. We want to offer specific mutual aid and community care at this time for the immediate future.
From now until January 3rd we are offering free yoga & movement classes at Roots for ALL.
From now until January 3rd - 50% off massage services for Brown students, faculty & staff, with valid ID + email. These are by appointment only.
If you are interested in donating to the Students of Brown Emergency Assistance Fund for Students, or joining other small businesses, organizations and individuals in Community Aid for Brown students - you can access that spreadsheet of Community Mutual Aid for students, you can do so at the link in our bio.
Things we’re doing to keep our community safe while remaining open to offer you a soft place to land:
-visits to Roots are by appointment only
-please enter & exit through our waiting area room door, the second door by the gym will be locked at all times.
-if you need to stop by Roots, for a gift card or any other reason outside of a scheduled class or appointment, please let us know at 401.535.6500 (call/text)
We’re here for you, and we love you PVD!
With care,
Amy + the Roots team
