Brown Medicine proudly supported this year’s Tour de Rhody, a cycling event benefiting the Brown University Office of Cancer Research.

With 175 riders and nearly $65,000 raised, every donation helps fund groundbreaking cancer research and clinical trials developed by the Brown University Oncology Research Group.

On October 19th, Sara Laliberte, Nurse Care Manager at our East Providence Primary Care office, proudly led Team Sara – Brown Medicine in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Providence.

Sara walks every year to honor and support those impacted by breast cancer. This year, eight Brown Medicine coworkers joined her for an incredible turnout!

The Brown Medicine team participated once again this year in the Gloria Gemma 5k @ Flames of Hope event held on October 5, 2025.

Joanne Kovich and Abigail Thistle from the Division of Endocrinology, and Heidy Orellana-Lopez from the Division of Gastroenterology, proudly represented Brown Medicine alongside their families.

Thousands came together in Providence for this inspiring fundraiser, which supports the free programs and services offered to individuals and families touched by cancer.
