Shatter the notion that black men don’t cry or have feelings. We continue to suffer in silence because we are socialized to stay emotionally chained to toxic masculinity because of what was- well, that old s**t just doesn’t work any more.

Want different outcomes, do things differently! Seek the help, cry, let your children see you cry/show emotions, and reach out. Allow vulnerability to help heal your wounds and surround yourself with people that will allow you to do these things and not tear you down for doing so.

Excited to be teaching this course I developed for Howard University School of Social Work, my alma mater!!! I took the mental health class when I was there by Dr. Phillip Lucas (Rest well mentor) and was tapped earlier last year to design a mental health course for the new online program! A privilege and honor.
