Are you ready?? Truly ready to heal?If your health status isn’t where you want it, it’s time to dig-in and do the work. Sometimes that work is the effort and attention toward healthy living, but other times it may be more fruitful to do less and let go more (of stressors, trapped emotions, etc). Regardless, it’s up to you to take responsibility for yourself and your health. Get curious about what YOU need, and then go do it. You got this! 👊🏽

CONTROL : Anyone else have a hard time letting go or getting out of “doing” mode?? 🙋🏻‍♀️

It’s easy to get caught up in the hamster wheel of trying a million things or taking 50 different supplements, etc when we’re TRYING to heal. And don’t get it twisted - effort IS required to heal.

But, sometimes the biggest healing shifts happen when we “let go” a little bit and get out of our way. Perhaps we let go of a habit that is no longer serving us, or maybe we just get quiet with ourselves for a bit to tap into what’s really going on or what’s really needed.

Amazing things can happen when we stop fighting it and LET the healing happen. This would be tapping into the “yin” or “receiving” energy. 💙✨💚

WE ARE PART OF NATURE, AND NATURE IS PART OF US. 🌳

I’ve been thinking a lot more lately about how our disconnection from nature is at the core of so much of chronic disease...our “need” to live in an artificial world is leaving so many of us sick, tired, depressed and more. What if the answer was simply to get outside more and get in touch with the elements of Earth, Sun, Air and Water...?

Here are some top ways we’re impacted this disconnection:

*lack of sunlight 🌞 —> not just low vitamin D and immune function , but also circadian rhythm and hormone imbalance balance issues, energy and mood issues
*artificial light —> disrupted circadian rhythm, hormone imbalance issues, sleep issues, blood sugar dysregulation
*lack of exposure to plants —> detoxification issues, processing issues, energy issues, immune impairment
*artificial/processed “foods” NOT found in nature —> blood sugar issues, mood issues, digestive issues, and SO many more
*lack of exposure to dirt/soil —> imbalanced and disrupted gut/skin/nasal microbiomes which leads to immune dysregulation (including autoimmunity)/chronic inflammation, digestion issues and leaky gut among a host of other things
*and the list goes on, but gets a little depressing...

Now: What are some of your favorite ways to GET CONNECTED with the elements? Comment below! Here are some of mine:
-walking outside
-standing barefoot in the grass
-walking barefoot on the beach and putting my feet in the water no matter the temperature
-taking a cold water plunge
-laying in the sun
-leaving some dirt on my organic, local veggies
-tending to houseplants when inside
-hiking or walking in the woods (check out the Japanese studies on “Forest bathing” if you want to learn some cool stuff about trees and your immune health and stress 🙌🏽)
-biking around with friends
-snowboarding in the Winter

**I’m making a conscious effort to continue getting outside - daily - even as the colder months approach. Will you join me??

ZINC TIP! Many of you have likely been taking zinc for immune support over the past 4-6 months, which can be a great help. Zinc is also super important for things like hormone processing, wound and skin healing and more. HOWEVER - you also want to consider your copper status with long-term zinc supplementation (typically anything over 4 mos). Long-term zinc supplementation can cause copper depletion/imbalance. So, unless you’re working with a practitioner who is monitoring your supplementation, it’s worth considering a zinc supplement that also includes a bit of copper. 👌🏽

Reminder: I cannot give individual medical or supplement advice via Instagram. If you have specific questions, please ask YOUR providers. 💙

INTENTIONAL FREE TIME : Did you know that taking time OUT to relax and enjoy yourself (particularly when free of digital distractions - ahem like away from the phone/social media you’re reading this on) is SUPER important for not just improved health & happiness, but it actually helps you be MORE productive in your job and other goals. Sounds like a win-win-win, eh!? 🙌🏽😊

DISCOMFORT —> CHANGE —> HEALING 💙

Pain & discomfort on all levels (physical, mental, emotional, social, relational etc) is what initiates awareness. Awareness is recognizing the need for change. Making changes is what creates change and leads to healing. Remember: if nothing changes, then nothing changes. Consider leaning into your pain and discomfort as a catalyst for positive change in your life. 💚
