Sometimes you need medical attention right away, but you’re not sure where to go. Should you rush to the ER or visit an Urgent Care instead?

The answer depends on how serious your condition is. Urgent Care centers can handle a variety of common and minor health problems, such as sprains, cuts, infections, and rashes. They are also faster and cheaper than the ER.

But if you have a life-threatening emergency, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, or signs of a stroke, you should call 911 or go to the nearest ER.

To help you decide, check out this handy image that shows what kinds of issues can be treated at an Urgent Care and what requires an ER visit. Stay safe and healthy!
