Do you feel the weight of everything happening in the world right now? Peace can feel out of reach—but it’s also what is most needed.
After all, that's why I created Making Peace with Your Plate. Join the interest list here https://thefunctionalfoodie.myflodesk.com/makingpeacewithyourplate
Late last night, I was reflecting on all that’s happening in our nation and around the world—the turmoil, the tragedies, the division. If you’re like me, you may be feeling the weight of it all right now. I find myself thinking about peace--what it feels like and what it really means to me in my life.
For me, peace is the most important feeling I can have, because only God can give true personal peace. The world can’t give it. The adversary can’t give it. It can only come from Him.
Even when peace in the world seems non-existent, I believe it’s always possible to seek and find personal peace.
Hence, why I am offering my group program in October called Making Peace with Your Plate. Just as the noise of the world can drown out peace, the battle with food can drown it out too.
I’ve seen how a tormented relationship with food keeps women stuck in a constant internal battle. I remember those days myself, and I see it in the women I coach. Our mind, body, and spirit are woven together, and when one is unsettled, the others are too.
But, when we lay aside the war with food, the bingeing, mindless eating, stress eating, obsessive thoughts, cravings, guilt, and shame cease to plague us, and the storm inside is quelled.
We discover peace that grounds us and opens space to feel and hear the Spirit of God. Instead of being tossed on waves of anxiety and fear, we can cultivate our own power and confidence.
The way we relate to food isn’t separate from our spiritual lives—it can either drown out peace or make room for it.
