Attended the annual conference to learn and be inspired. Great presentations on interesting architecture, AI in architecture, architects who also teach, create art, serve their communities and develop their own projects and the housing challenges we are seeing here in Utah. Had to leave before the closing speaker and the design awards but it was a great day of learning. Nice work to those involved in the planning and ex*****on of the event.

Yesterday we sponsored a hole at the Rural Healthcare Foundation golf tournament and we had a great time visiting with the golfers as they came through the 10th hole. We have used to print the photos we have on display in the office and have used them to take on the road. Thank you to the team at SBR Vision Graphics for helping us look good.

The design of the Central Valley Medical Center Phase V Addition and Remodel is over 4 years old, and included helping the hospital expand their existing facilities. We needed to make the connection between old and new appear as it had always been there and this feature wall was created to connect the new with the old. The wall provided a blank canvas that was unknown for sure how the hospital would use it. Visiting the building last week, it was exciting to see how the hospital used it to celebrate their past while honoring their present. It's a great addition to the hospital's interior experience for patients, and the medical professionals who serve them.

Another great collaboration with Westland Construction and Central Valley Medical Center on the addition to the CVMC Santaquin Clinic. Great progress happening on the site and on the building that provides space for new medical specialties, meeting the needs of the patients here in Santaquin for many years to come. It’s looking amazing!

Updated some marketing materials today for the UVU School of Education Student Success Center completed in December 2024 and loved how the design renderings reflected the final construction completed by Hadfield Construction. It's always exciting to get to go back and see the results of our collaboration with the members of the team to create a space that helps the school better serve their students. This addition created previously non-existent space for the students to gather to study, collaborate and learn in an open, light-filled environment.

Site visit to observe progress at the new .city.utah Ivy Acres Park. The park is designed with a new splash pad, playground, pickleball courts (of course), basketball, ninja warrior course hammocking poles, nine square co****le, stage, and a boardwalk to engage with the stream running through the site. The structure in the photo is a pavilion, restroom and pump house building for the park. is doing great with the schedule and the work needed for the residents to use the park sometime this fall. Grateful to work with on another great park project!!

This is phase three of a project to remove aging and dangerous stairs, update the egress balcony framing and decking systems and to provide new, wider and safer egress stairs for students who will live at this complex in Provo, Utah. We hit the ground running on a short construction season that started at the end of the school year and has to be ready for the students to move in in the fall. Progress is fast and teamwork and collaboration is critical. Great work to everyone on the team!

Travel is always an architectural journey to explore new and old ways of building and designing buildings. I need to just go back east and bring a camera with the intent of stopping and taking pictures of more than what I do when we have another purpose in mind. There are some fantastic old@homes here in upstate NY and as we drove from DC to here. We really don’t know the meaning of old in the west. What’s your favorite? Enjoy!
