what a week!! 🤯🎀

the first two pics show the absolute highest high next to the absolute lowest low, which happened within four days of each other 😵‍💫❤️‍🩹 the whiplash has been real

overall, I had a good week 💛 I’m so so grateful for my ability to bounce back from such a low day, but I never expect it or force it from myself. It took a lot of time, rest, and planning in order to make my Saturday night happen.

Yesterday, the only way I was able to dress up and go out was with lots of medicine and a bit of delusion 🙂‍↕️ but just looking at me, smiling walking around, you would never ever guess all that I was going through right then let alone days before!

you can never judge someone’s state of mind or health just by looking at them, always be kind. 🤍

emergency room go bag checklist! ☑️

I had my first ER trip this week, and trying to pack and make a mental list of the things I could maybe need while in pain/while on our way out the door was a struggle 🥴 here’s a little checklist I came up with to turn to in those times so the packing pressure can be off of me! 🤍 I don’t have a ton of experience with er care personally, so if there’s any item you can’t go without, please comment and share!! 👏

todays topic: superior mesenteric artery syndrome!

Recent imaging showed that I currently have this. Since then we’ve done more imaging with barium just to make sure there are no other issues. Next up is making a treatment game plan with my doctor. 💛

one of the most heart breaking things I’ve had to experience is not being believed by loved ones when I’ve said I’m suffering 💔

It’s feels like a physical blow, to be told I’m “faking it”. To be thought of as dramatic and as a liar by someone who I’m close with. Because that’s what’s happening when they don’t believe. There is an immediate disconnect. An immediate lack of trust.

To make someone prove that they’re suffering in order to receive support, and then be surprised when they no longer turn to you for support, is something that happens all too often.

I’ve seen so many of my own friendships and relationships change and either out after getting diagnosed. I’ve seen it happen countless times to my friends who are also suffering.

So, for those who need to learn it:
We shouldn’t have to prove the severity of our suffering in order to be believed by you.

And for those who need to hear it:
You don’t need to prove your suffering in order to deserve love and support.

it can be a go-to reaction to dismiss or minimize our pain, whether we think there’s a good reason to or not 🥲 unfortunately that can be a result of years of dismissal from others. but it is a way of thinking that is so harmful and unproductive 💔

so in case you need to hear today:
