It’s important to remember: grief cannot be rushed. Whether it’s making changes in the home or going through a loved one’s belongings, give each other the gift of time. Spouses and family members may need space before they’re ready to part with personal items. Waiting until everyone feels prepared helps protect relationships and honors the memory of the one who has passed.

Sometimes healing looks like moving forward. Other times, it looks like holding still. Both are okay.
