Each dog trained by our staff is an individual case, and training is custom tailored for maximum success. We focus on training dogs not to do unwanted behaviors and encourage desired behaviors with consistent positive motivation. Our assistance dogs are custom trained to meet the needs

and lifestyle of our clients. We strive to place the highest quality assistance dogs possible. With on-staff rehabilitation counselor, and assistance dog trainers, our assistance dog program is an all inclusive approach to find solutions to over come limitations, and enhance independence through the shared connection of the human - canine bond.

Service dogs work hard. When their vest is on it’s all business, but even a working dog needs time to play. Last week Angus was on the job and went into action to help a woman who collapsed at the center he and I work at. He kept her calm and remained pressed against her to prevent her from getting hurt until an ambulance arrived. When he got home he had much deserved time to play ball and frisbee. It is vital to allow working dogs time to just be dogs and play. Taking care of your service dog’s mental well being is crucial.

As we look back at all the families we have had the opportunity to assist, our hearts are filled with gratitude and compassion. One memory that particularly stands out is from eight years ago when Koa, became a seizure alert dog for his sweet owner, Sebastian. This memory reminds us why we are committed to helping families in need, and it motivates us to keep striving towards our goal of making a difference in the lives of people and their beloved pets, near and far.

One year ago today, Becca traveled from California to Nebraska to bring Sam to his handler, Carey. In the last year, Sam has gained about 20 pounds and has learned many new skills to help his mom in her daily life. Today, Sam earned a celebratory treat from Scooter's Coffee!

Thanks to Stofers Labs and Scatter Joy Acres for making this family complete!
