A proud veteran, he served with honor in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and instilled in him values of dedication and service. He moved to Pryor in 1988 to work at Lonestar Cement Plant where he was an Electrical Engineer until his retirement.

Ben was not only a committed serviceman but also an individual who found immense joy in community and creativity. He held the esteemed position of state governor in the Toastmasters, where he nurtured his love for public speaking and personal growth. His membership at the Pryor Methodist Church reflected his dedication to faith and fellowship within his community.

Beyond his professional and civic engagements, Benjamin had a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. He was a passionate writer, sharing his thoughts and feelings through poetry. He also enjoyed running and playing his guitar.

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Betty Cox, with whom he shared over 30 years. His legacy continues through his daughters, Shirley Cox, Amy Wilson, and Christy Robinson; stepsons, Darrin Dougherty and Jim Marshall, Jr.; brother, Joe Cox; and sisters, Clara and Pearly. He was a cherished grandfather to Kiah, Bailee, Bubbe, Dylan, Chloe, Nicolas, Bentley, Sophie, Ross, Ashley, Elizabeth, and Kobi, and a proud great-grandfather to Righleigh, Nolan, Kyson, Kaiden, Kannon, Sage, Lily, and Everett.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlen and Nora (Yandell) Cox; brothers, Robert and Donny; and sister, Dorothy.

Funeral services for Ben will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Mayberry officiating. Her life was marked by a dedication to the health and well-being of others, as she spent many years working as a Registered Nurse (RN) before transitioning to a role as a lab technician for Cherokee Nation.

Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother, cherished by her family. She is survived by her son, Tom Link, and his wife, Emily, of Strang, Oklahoma. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Travis Link of Pryor, Oklahoma; Clayton Link and his wife, Madison, from Nebraska; Lesa Link of Cordell, Oklahoma; and Makayla Roberts and her husband, Dakota, also from Strang, Oklahoma. Margaret was especially proud to be a great-grandmother, leaving behind a growing family that includes Silas Link, Kylee Roberts, Brooklynn Roberts, Penelope Link, Leon Link, Eli Link, Johnathan Link, and Daniel Link.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Nell and Lon Campbell, and Tom and Bertie (Mason) Wickliffe.

William Floyd Parks, Sr. 86, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 22, 2025. Born on April 15, 1939, William lived a full and faithful life. He worked as a carpet layer throughout his career while also dedicating himself to pastoring churches, including Trinity Pentecostal, Pryor, OK, Junction Hill Pentecostal in West Plains, Missouri, Kellyville Holiness, Kellyville, OK, and 30 years of service at Landmark Holiness in Eucha, OK. He donated his flooring installation skills to many churches across the country.

He especially enjoyed remodeling and improving the churches he shepherded. William loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting and fishing. Known for his calm and even-tempered nature, he was a loving family man who always affectionately called his wife “Sweetheart.” Generous to a fault, honest, and giving, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Alveta Parks of the home; son, Bill Parks and wife Melanie of Catoosa, Oklahoma; daughter, Nancy Edenfield and husband Gary of Claremore, Oklahoma; brothers, Eugene Parks, John Parks, Dan Parks, and Leon Parks, all of Chelsea, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Littleton and husband Lloyd of Fouke, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; Amber Breeden, April Rogers and husband Justin, Dustin Parks and wife Bridgett, Andrea Touchton and husband Michael, William Parks and wife Allison, Deric Parks and wife Carissa, Shareta Gonzalez and husband Ryan, Chloe Parks and husband Tanner; fifteen great-grandchildren; Chase, Trevor & Adam Rogers; Emma, Eden & Easton Parks; Rylen, Owen & Ellen Touchton; Lucas Holcomb; Jay & Sage Parks; Zoe Parks; Melody and Lawson Gonzalez along with many other relatives and friends.

Vince is remembered for his passion for the outdoors. He found joy in hunting and fishing, relishing the serenity and adventure that nature provided. His love for the water was evident in his many days spent boating and being surrounded by the beauty of the lakes. Cooking for his family brought him joy. An enthusiast of motorcycles, he enjoyed the thrill of riding and the freedom it offered.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Stoyanoski of the home; and his children, Alex Stoyanoski of Pryor, and McKenzie Stoyanoski of the home. Vince’s legacy will live on through his family, who continue to carry forward his spirit of love and adventure.

Cathy had a passion for gathering loved ones together, and her home was always filled with laughter, love, and delicious food. She took great joy in cooking for family and friends, often preparing enough to ensure everyone around her felt included and cherished. In addition to her culinary talents, Cathy had a deep appreciation for the beauty of life, reflected in her love for gardening; she loved growing an array of flowers that brightened both her home and the hearts of those she loved. She found solace in the act of sewing and cherished warmth through her participation in Bible study. Her enthusiastic spirit also drew her to garage sales, where she enjoyed the thrill of treasure hunting and her next best bargain.

Cathy leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her son, Larry Young and wife Loretta, from Salina, Oklahoma; her brothers Eddy Morse from Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Billy Morse and wife Kelly, from Pryor, Oklahoma; her sister Royce Hopper and husband Jerry from Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sister Suzy Moore from Tulsa, Oklahoma; and sister Linda Thompson from Pryor, Oklahoma. In addition to her siblings, Cathy was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and delighted in her role as a great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren.

Cathy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lonnie and Helen McWhorter, her devoted husband Jerry Young, and her brothers Larry Morse and Randy McWhorter. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the warmth of her spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Blue Springs Church in Salina. This gathering will serve as a beautiful reminder of the legacy Cathy leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and an enduring bond with her cherished family.

Merle Udean Peterson, 74, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the home of his daughter Lisa Jovee and son-in-law Edward in Glenpool, Oklahoma. He was born on July 15, 1951 in Chester, Oklahoma, to Loren and Iola Peterson. Merle served in the Navy from December 8, 1970 to March 7, 1975. On June 30, 1978, Merle married Linda Peterson and built their life in Oklahoma.

He enjoyed woodworking, mowing his lawn, tinkering in his garage and was an avid OU football fan. He was dedicated to his wife, Linda and enjoyed his summers with his grandchildren. He had made his home in the Chouteau area for the last 30 years, after moving from Yukon, Oklahoma.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Iola Peterson. His wife Linda Peterson. In her younger years, she found joy in growing beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables, taking pride in her garden that reflected her vibrant personality. Lois is survived by her sister, Bonnie Chaney of Orangevale, California, and her brother, Roy Taylor Jr. of Reno, Nevada. He was a gentle giant, beloved for his sweet and kind nature. John’s heart was as big as his stature, making him a cherished presence among family and friends. John graduated from Pryor High School in 2009, a milestone that set the stage for the life he would lead. For many years, he dedicated himself to working at the Pryor lumber yard, where his commitment and hard work spoke to his character. His colleagues remember him not just for his reliability but also for the warmth he brought into the workplace. Outside of work, John enjoyed watching sports his favorite being the Seattle Seahawks and had a passion for wrestling as he always attended “support wrestling for a cause”, always cheering enthusiastically for his teams. He found great joy in watching as well as playing baseball. John was an avid collector of Funko POP’s and enjoyed collecting all different kinds of Zippos.

John is survived by his loving family, who will remember him fondly. His mother, Evelyn Rabbit, of the home located in Chouteau, Oklahoma, alongside his grandmother Juanita Rabbit, who also lives in Chouteau. John leaves behind an aunt, Anita "Bunnie" McLain, and her husband Russell, who are also of Chouteau, Oklahoma. John also will be remembered by a host of extended family and friends that will miss him immensely. Their lives will be forever touched by the love and kindness John shared with them. John is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Rabbit, whose memories will remain a guiding light for all who are mourning. He also is proceeded in death by his beloved dog, Bane, who passed away in January. As we remember John Rabbit, let us celebrate his spirit: the sweet laughter, the gentle heart, and the kindness that defined his life. Sandra Foote Lee was the first baby girl born in the new hospital in Guymon, Oklahoma on July 14, 1949. She was born to Elmer Foote and Kathe Andreson Foote. Sandra passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Sandra attended Pryor Schools, graduating in 1967. After graduation, Sandra attended St. Anthony's School of Nursing where she graduated in 1970. Sandra was a dedicated nurse. A co-worker who worked with Sandra for many years commented that Sandra had a beautiful heart, a joyful spontaneous laugh, and a true calling to a nurse. She stated that Sandra's patients always loved her. Sandra worked for many years at Grand Valley Hospital and retired from the 29 plus years as an emergency room nurse at Claremore Indian Hospital. She always put her patients' needs above her own, displaying empathy and compassion. Sandra displayed her love for her Savior by serving others, donating to many charitable organizations and volunteering many hours at the Second Impressions Thrift Store in Claremore.

Sandra is survived by her daughters, Chenoa Brasswell and Kamisha Lee. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Cheryl Foote Kilgore and husband Harold.

Sandra was a loving MeMaw to Christopher, Alan, Emani, Jerimiah, Aleya, Jordan, Anika, Kahleesi, Kortona, and great-grandchildren, Kyrie and Rosé.

Sandra loved her nieces and nephews and was a big part of their lives. She will be greatly missed by nieces Chanda McKinney and husband Greg, Deandra Kilgore, and nephew Billy Kilgore and wife Amy.

Sandra loved family get togethers! Her quick, witty comments and sense of humor will be missed. No formal services are planned. Instead, the family is getting together to celebrate a life, cherished and well lived.

Virginia's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and service. Married to Stephen Jennings on October 4, 1962, they cherished nearly 63 years together, exemplifying a partnership rooted in devotion and mutual respect. Family was paramount to Virginia; she is survived by her husband, Stephen Jennings, their son, Vance Foreman Jennings of Pryor, OK, and their daughter, Stephanie Lee Gaines, along with her husband Dan, also of Pryor, OK. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Hendrickson and his wife Jenean of Chelsea, OK, and her sister, Terri Calderwood of Norman, OK. Virginia's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Jay Curtsinger, Brandon Gaines, Brad Gaines, Marissa Jennings, and Vanessa Jennings—and her great-grandchildren—Jakoby Curtsinger, Jayce Curtsinger, Blair Curtsinger, Bryce Orman, Claire Gaines, and Melanie Orman.

A woman of faith, Virginia was a devoted member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she not only attended services but enjoyed sharing her knowledge and passion for learning. Her strength in faith underscored her life’s mission as a faithful servant to the Lord. Additionally, Virginia found joy in reading and frequently visited Big Cedar in Branson, enjoying the beauty of the Ozarks and the mountains. A spirited sports fan, she relished watching college sports, particularly cheering for OSU.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Jesse Mae (Caldwell) Hendrickson, and her brother, Bruce Hendrickson. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love, education, and faith that will be admired by all who knew her.

His uplifting spirit created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A devoted Christian, Buddy’s faith was the foundation of his life. He was a faithful member of Chouteau Hills Church of Christ for more than 50 years and treasured the fellowship of his church family. Buddy also had a lifelong passion for sports and music, with a special fondness for the Chicago Bulls, OKC Thunder, Kansas City Chiefs, and the music of Elvis Presley.

Buddy is survived by his children, Steven Scott Jordan, Shaun Carl Jordan, and Debi Kay Jordan; and by his grandchildren, Jordan Scruggs, Shelby Soder, Parker Jordan, and Hunter Jordan, who were a constant source of joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Jordan; his wife, Joyce Jordan; his sisters, Danny Warford and Judy Pilant; and his brother, Hubert Jordan.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service in Pryor, Oklahoma. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Chouteau Hills Church of Christ in Chouteau, Oklahoma, with burial at Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers will be Jordan Scruggs, Eric Bond, Nathan Hall, David McCullogh, Rick Bond, and David Joice.
