For the Delehoy family, UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital is more than a hospital; it’s part of their story.

For nearly a century, the northern Colorado family has welcomed new life within its walls, beginning in 1939 when Marie and Victor Delehoy delivered their first child there. Since then, four generations have followed, with 12 babies born at Poudre Valley Hospital, including the newest addition, Adeline Martin, in May of this year.

“It’s very meaningful to bring my children into the world in the same place as my great-grandparents, grandparents and parents,” said Adeline’s mother, Kirsten Martin.

The family says their connection to the hospital is about more than tradition. It’s about trust, quality care and a sense of home. Kirsten’s sister, Kelsey, also delivered her children at Poudre Valley Hospital, and their mother, Karen, spent decades working there as a nurse. “It’s not just a hospital,” Kirsten added. “It’s part of my family’s history.”

As Poudre Valley Hospital turns 100, the Delehoy family celebrates four generations of babies who have been born there.

A single fall can change everything for older adults but a new approach aims to stop repeat injuries before they happen.

A UCHealth study is testing whether telehealth visits with physical therapists and pharmacists can help uncover the hidden causes of falls and prevent repeat injuries. It’s a promising step toward safer, healthier aging.

Read how the e-GAPcare trial works.

Prevening falls is critical to reducing injuries among older adults, and telehealth tools may help providers reach more people in rural areas.

Alisa Alfonso and Michelle Blackford presented their donation from "The Walk" to Parkview Breast Health on Friday at Bloom Boutique, currently located on Parkview's Greenwood Medical Office Building. At Bloom, women going through cancer treatment can choose from an array of free wigs, and also get fitted for bras.

Alisa is a breast cancer survivor. Along with Liz Chapman and Michelle, Alisa wanted to do something to help others in the community who are faced with breast cancer. Several of Parkview's staff donated and/or participated in the walk.

Also, Jen Willard, a breast cancer survivor living in Denver and founder/CEO at JWILL Pink Village, has donated 120 seatbelt heart-shaped pillows to provide protection when riding in the car. Her mission is to bring hope to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all for the generous donations.
