After spending 6 years in Dallas, TX while attending Chiropractic school and practicing with several Doctors in that area, Dr. Avila and his wife Kellie came back home to Pueblo. They started their practice in March of 2000 with the opening of Avila Chiropractic, P.C. Both natives of Pueblo, they were committed to providing a comfortable setting with the highest quality of care. They made it a true “Family” practice with Dr. Avila treating patients and Kellie, also a business partner, managing the office operations. Since then, they have proudly served the Pueblo community dedicated to their initial vision and beyond. In April 2012, Dr. Avila’s vision to integrate materialized and Avila Integrative Medicine began providing premier Chiropractic, Pain Management and Physical Therapy. With their growth and expansion, one can still expect that welcoming, comfortable atmosphere and superior quality care…beyond what you expect.

"Quiet Moments, Big Memories
The Colorado State Fair is proud to partner with the Autism Society of Colorado and Pueblo Pediatric Therapy Center to host a sensory friendly experience on Labor Day (Monday, September 1) from 11am to 2pm. We welcome individuals of all ages and abilities who may have special sensory needs to enjoy the fair in a calmer, quieter, and supportive environment.

With thousands of sights, sounds, and smells to take in, the fair can sometimes be overstimulating. That’s why, for a few hours, the Colorado State Fair will turn down the lights and lower the volume, making it easier for all guests to enjoy the magic of the fair at their own pace.

Sensory Day Highlights
Ride the rides in our family carnival with no flashing lights or music
No PA announcements during Sensory Day hours
Visit the Fair’s many educational activities in the morning with fewer crowds
Take a break in the Colorado Building or visit the Fine Arts Gallery for a cool & quiet viewing of local masterpieces"

Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

Mobility Assistance: Helping patients move around, transfer from bed to chair, and ambulate.

Vital Signs: Measuring and recording temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.

Observation and Reporting: Noticing and reporting any changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the supervising nurse.

Feeding Assistance: Assisting patients with eating.

Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and organized environment for patients, including changing linens and tidying rooms.
