We fell off the social media wagon for a bit there, but here's a photo for the algorithm to ignore.

It's been easy to feel overwhelmed by the maelstrom of ish lately. We all feel the dizziness from this creeping authoritarian government. That's by design. We cannot allow ourselves to be tangled up in the headlines tho. There is too much work to be done, and we cannot let perfect be the enemy of good.

Write letters. Sign petitions. Share videos. Argue with your family. March. Get into good trouble.

Or come help us out on Sundays at the Ethos in Pueblo at 11am. We feed and clothe the most vulnerable population of our city, and can always use the help.

To the Project Apollo Community

As you notice, our online presence has slowly decreased, and calling this a difficult spring is an understatement. Many valid concerns have been brought to light that deserve time and attention to address responsibly. We are all working to learn and develop better ways to communicate with and protect our entire community, which will take significant time, ongoing conversation, patience, and everyone's help.

As of right now, we have officially developed appropriate safety protocols and plans to deal with the many safety risks and violence that are part of the work we do and community we serve. Because of this, anyone who is not comfortable with going to either outreach site should prioritize their boundaries and personal safety. We still welcome everyone to join for prep or participate in whatever way feels safe to them.

There are also many people in our community who feel we need to continue to serve our unhoused neighbors and are comfortable personally assuming the safety risks associated with this.

We have a lot of growth and learning to do as this community continues to evolve. Hopefully this will help us to grow stronger and safer together. Please message us for further details if you are interested in joining us.

Thank you for your love, kindness, and patience.

‼️Reminder‼️
The Apollo board is hoping to start holding community gatherings four times per year to reflect and learn together, foster a culture of collaboration, organize collective action, strategize around future goals, celebrate our wins, and practice joy as resistance!

The first one will be tomorrow evening at Ethos! The goals for this gathering are:
- To set the tone, purpose, and ongoing ritual of a quarterly gathering for the apollo community
- To inform the greater Apollo community of the work the board has been working on since May of 2024, including FGAMS (fu***ng goals and accountability measures), and commit to greater transparency
- Explore how Apollo can create a culture of care - explore what is getting in the way and recognize each other for all the contributions we make to the community
-Foster authentic connection between members of Apollo
Bring a dish if you can, but we would love to see your beautiful faces! đź’ś

‼️ “Beware the Ides of March!” was the infamous warning given to Julius Ceasar about his upcoming assassination at a March 15th meeting of the Roman Senate due to concerns he was trying to crown himself the King of Rome. This year, we’ll be marking March 15th with a cunty riff on the classic Toga Party theme to raise funds for Project Apollo! Come in your fiercest Roman Empire inspired looks ready to slay! Ass-Ass-inate with killer moves on the dance floor! Scream, “Et tu, Booty!” while throwing tips at the night’s performers! Most importantly, party like it’s the fall of the Republic!

-Suggested Donation $5-$15, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds

-Doors open at 7pm, if you don’t have an outfit we’ll have extra toga materials available to borrow

-Performances kick off at 8pm, hosted by Zoey Astarte

-After the show, stick around until 11pm to dance!

About the Fundraiser: All proceeds will go to Project Apollo to support their ongoing lifesaving outreach efforts. Project Apollo has run down their budget on Winter Warming supplies responding to this year’s ongoing sweeps of encampments by the city, record breaking low temperatures, and winter storms. They’ve already covered 5,000 in supplies since September, and we haven’t even gotten into this year’s spring storms yet. If we can raise this goal, they can continue to cover needed supplies for our unhoused neighbors throughout the spring. Even if you can’t make it to the event in person donations to help us reach this goal are extremely appreciated!

URGENT: Our neighbors are being impacted by our city’s decision to:

Sweep encampment areas with the reasoning to enforce the municipal code, ensure “safety”, and keeping water-ways clean.

However, these sweeps have displaced people without providing alternative housing or services. Our neighbors are in need of security, safety, and supplies.
