Kids with slow processing speed are often considered lazy…

However, these kids are often very intelligent, they just process information slower than their peers.

Kids who experience processing speed tend to get distracted easily when asked to complete tasks or directions. But, there are a few modifications or adjustments that can be made in class to support their needs.

If you suspect your child or students have a slow processing issue, you may notice the following:

😶‍🌫️Unorganized and often forgets to turn in homework
😶‍🌫️Rarely completes tests on time and leaves multiple questions blank during timed tests
😶‍🌫️Struggles with math, sequencing and calculations
😶‍🌫️Is distracted frequently by background noise and finds it difficult to concentrate
