Veterans Caring for Veterans: I Got Your Six

Are you a veteran who is willing to share your time and talents to assist veteran patients and their families who are dealing with end-of-life issues? Trained hospice volunteers, who are also veterans, have a unique ability to support other veterans with a life-limiting illness.

Visit our veteran patients. Educate our team on military culture. Lead a Lunch-and-Learn, present at an all-staff meeting, or just share your wisdom as needed. Lead a monthly Vet-to-Vet Café where we bring coffee, donuts, and conversation to skilled nursing facilities to bring veteran residents together. Hospice Volunteers demonstrate love, tenderness, and compassion to patients and their families. We are seeking volunteers in the outer range of our service area in Pueblo, Fremont, Otero, and Huerfano counties.

Our volunteers serve as both a companion for the patient and as a respite for caregivers. Our volunteer coordinator provides thorough, one-on-one orientation and training. Each volunteer receives direct support through the onboarding process as you become a valued member of our hospice team.
