Dear Coach,

They all need yoga and not just occasionally.

On Wednesday, I received a call from an old friend. His girls’ swim team needed something more than practice… they needed love, breath, and energy. His team needed yoga.

And that’s our “why.” Because every athlete needs yoga.

They need yoga on the good days.
They need yoga on the hard days.
They need yoga after every win.
And they need it twice as much after every loss.

Because it’s not just the stretch.
It’s the therapy.
It’s the conversation.
It’s the breath.
It’s learning how to come back to themselves again and again.

And maybe most importantly… it’s giving them permission to feel.
To recognize their own emotions and feelings.
To process it all, without stuffing it down, brushing it off, or pretending they’re fine.

2025 was a year of showing up again and again, even when it was hard, even when it was early, even when life felt heavy.

To every instructor who led with heart.
To every student who walked through the door unsure but left stronger.
To every moment of showing up when it would have been easier not to, thank you.

As we close 2025, we do so grounded, grateful, and ready to carry forward what matters most:
movement as medicine, community as support, and space to simply be.

Here’s to 2026 — still sharing, still growing, still showing up. 💛

Last Sunday I listened to someone speak about JOY—how we find it, how we feel it, and how we let it shape us.

In March 2026, I’ll celebrate 11 years of teaching yoga inside this fire station. Eleven years of showing up, breathing together, and finding grounding in a place that sees both the best and the hardest moments of humanity.

Teaching yoga in our city fire stations has always brought me joy. These spaces are real and honest—filled with the joy of helping others, but also the weight of pain and grief.

And somehow, every time we unroll our mats, yoga brings a little light back in. A moment of peace. A reminder to breathe. A spark of joy inside the station.

Grateful for this work, this community, and every firefighter who shows up—on and off the mat. ❤️🧘‍♀️🚒
