🚨 IMPORTANT INSURANCE CHANGES COMING IN 2026 🚨
(This includes VOLVO GROUP health plans)

👉 Starting JANUARY 1, 2026, GLP-1 medications may ONLY be covered for patients with confirmed diabetes.

❓ WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Coverage for GLP-1 meds used for weight loss or any diagnosis other than diabetes may end.

Examples: Wegovy®, Zepbound®, Saxenda®

If you take one of these for weight management, insurance may NOT cover it at all in 2026.

💉 WHAT ABOUT DIABETICS?

Coverage is not expected to change, BUT a new Prior Authorization will likely be required.

Expect possible delays getting your medication at the beginning of the year due to the volume of Pre-Authorizations and more burdensome requirements.

Examples of diabetes GLP-1s: Victoza®, Trulicity®, Ozempic®, Rybelsus®, Mounjaro®

Pay Cash at the Pharmacy
• Prices vary – ask about discount programs

Manufacturer Programs
• LillyDirect (Eli Lilly): www.lillydirect.com

• NovoCare (Novo Nordisk): www.novocare.com

• These may offer set cash fees for certain GLP-1s

Other Savings Programs
• Some pharmacies/3rd-party programs may have lower prices
• Ask your provider or pharmacist about options

⚠️ WHAT IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD GLP-1s ANYMORE?

Make an appointment with your provider BEFORE you run out of medication.

Discuss safe, affordable alternative treatment options with your provider.

Focus on:
• Balanced diet
• Portion control
• Staying physically active

👉 Always tell your provider right away if your medications change for any reason.
