🚶‍♂️❤️ Our Hermitage clinic is fundraising for the American Heart Association - Tennessee's Middle Tennessee Heart Walk on September 20th in honor of their patient, Clifton Lide! ❤️🚶‍♀️

After a life-threatening heart attack in 2021 that led to bilateral amputation and a 6-month hospital stay, Clifton came to our Hermitage clinic weak but DETERMINED. Today, he's conquering life every single day! 💪

From our clinic director: "His will to live inspired me and those in the clinic with him! He's pushed sleds, done battle ropes, mastered balance challenges, and even taught me frisbee golf! He has conquered life every single day and pushes to be better every session. Clifton shows us there are no limitations - only possibilities, and reminds us to live life to the fullest!" ❤️

Our Tullahoma Clinic is excited to support Blue Monarch in our 2025 Clinic Challenge! 🦋

Blue Monarch's mission is to provide long-term, residential, and therapeutic Christian community for women and their children, helping them break adverse cycles and rebuild their families. 💙

They assist women and their children who are overcoming addiction, abuse, and economic hardship, helping them transform their lives in mind, body, and spirit.

Their program emphasizes the recovery of both the mother and the child, providing hands-on coaching for mothers learning to parent their children while sober. Blue Monarch believes destructive cycles can be broken, families can be healed, and freedom from addiction can be found through Christ.

Since 2003, Blue Monarch has served over 1,000 women and children, successfully reuniting more than 370 children with mothers who had previously lost custody.

This week was American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Capitol Hill Day 2025! We are proud to share that our Franklin Clinic Director, Tom Mork, was among the delegation from APTA Tennessee that attended APTA Capitol Hill Day. Tom met with legislative staff from the offices of Congressman Mark Green, Congressman Andy Ogles, Senator Bill Hagerty, and Sen. Marsha Blackburn to advocate for crucial healthcare legislation.

Key Legislative Priorities Discussed:

Medicare Reform - Supporting the recent 2% payment boost to the Medicare physician fee schedule and continuing the fight for long-term solutions that include adding an annual inflationary update to prevent future cuts to Medicare.

SAFE Act (H.R. 1171) - The Stopping Addiction and Falls in the Elderly Act would trigger an automatic referral to physical therapy for Medicare patients with a history of falling during annual physicals and wellness check-ups.

Preventing Interruptions in Physical Therapy Act (H.R. 1517 / S. 2225) - Expanding locum tenens coverage beyond rural areas to ensure continuous patient care.

Optimizing Postpartum Outcomes Act (H.R. 4074) - Would instruct the Department of Health and Human Services to provide education for physicians and patients about Pelvic Health physical therapy and the benefits of this service following pregnancy.

At STAR Physical Therapy, we believe in advocating for our patients and our profession. These bills represent important steps toward improving access to quality physical therapy care for all Americans. Thank you to the APTA for organizing this important advocacy event!

Sissy was a wonderful patient who excelled in our LSVT program. She struggled with yard work before starting at STAR, but she has since returned to her garden and even set up a home gym in her garage to maintain what she learned in physical therapy. Her doctor was thrilled with her results from the program, and Sissy says she would highly recommend both the LSVT program and STAR to anyone interested!

💜 WEAR PURPLE FOR CAM 💜

Our hearts are heavy as we wear purple today to support Ashley Hagan and her family. On Mother's Day, her three children were involved in a tragic car accident. The youngest, a 6-year-old boy named Bo, heartbreakingly lost his life, while his older siblings, Cam (16) and Harli (20), remain in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Cam is a student and football player at Lawrence County High School, and today, the LCHS Wildcats encourage everyone to wear purple to show their support for Cam and his family.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 💜

We are thrilled to announce that Sissy has officially completed her physical therapy journey with us at STAR!

After navigating four knee surgeries and countless hours of rehab, Sissy has shown what true resilience looks like. Our team is honored to have been part of her recovery journey and to celebrate her milestones along the way! Now the moment we've all been waiting for has arrived - she's heading back to the basketball court for her senior season!

The final chapter of her high school basketball career is one she's fought tirelessly to write, and we can't wait to see her back on the court and cheer her on as she returns to doing what she loves!
