Therapeutic Modalities and BEMER

Let us be very clear what BEMER is. BEMER gets lumped into a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) product because it deploys a PEMF to deliver its patented waveform to target muscles throughout the body, but specifically the smooth muscles found within the (resistance vessels) microcirculation. No other product, whether PEMF or not, has demonstrated the scientific efficacy that BEMER has established globally in the field of Bioelectromagnetic. So, while BEMER does utilize a PEMF within its technology, BEMER is not a PEMF medical device.

An analogy to this is a medical device, that is FDA cleared as a Bone Stimulator and uses Ultrasound (US) to achieve the desired results. The device does not claim it is an Ultrasound, it claims what it is, a Bone Stimulator. As it relates to BEMER, BEMER is a Muscle Stimulator that uses PEMF to stimulate muscles in order to increase circulation and enhance muscular performance.

So now, if we want to compare BEMER to a Bone Stimulator or even to Ultrasound, it really cannot be done. It is like comparing apples to oranges. The best we can do is to compare the effects of the therapy, their mechanisms of action and the safety window of the respective therapies.

For instance, while there have been many studies that scientifically prove that PEMF and/or Ultrasound (certain intensities and frequencies) can stimulate bone to grow and/or regenerate, not all PEMF and/or Ultrasound devices have the capacity to elicit bone growth, and even fewer with clearances from regulatory bodies like the FDA.

So, this is where things get interesting. What do I mean? Well, this is where the bait and switch happens. In fact, many products (especially non-FDA cleared devices) may poach legitimate scientific research and call it their own even though the research was not done on their product at all! You may be asking yourself. How can this be? It is a sad state of affairs when this occurs as it is unethical and can easily misinform a consumer, whether they are a layperson or a medical professional.

BEMER has always led with safety and science for the past 25 years on the international market. You will find on websites, perspectives from opinion leaders, etc., that BEMER is always the product that is being compared to by “other” companies/products. Why does BEMER not compare itself to any other product? Because BEMER is not like any other product. BEMER is the only medical device that delivers its waveform and signal through a (PEMF), that has been proven to be safe and has demonstrated scientific efficacy targeting the muscles of the microcirculatory vessels (resistance vessels) to increase local circulation and enhance performance.

While modern medicine does not have readily available assessments for the microcirculation for the general population, research teams and specific medical specialties (ex. woundcare) are paving the way to evaluate microcirculation due its ubiquitous presence with the body and its function/disfunction, as it is directly related as a precursor for many acute and chronic diseases.

So whichever therapeutic modality that you use for yourself and/or provide guidance for others, it is prudent to have knowledge about BEMER Therapy, its mechanisms of action and how BEMER is related to other therapeutic modalities on the market.
