💐 Each year, we set aside a special week to celebrate our amazing residents and associates and the role that skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities play in senior care.

We care for those who cannot care for themselves. We help rehab patients recover from illness or injury. And we do it all in a series of many moments... ☺️

From assisting a resident with getting dressed in the morning to providing meals, activities, medication administration, help with activities of daily living, and therapy as appropriate, our associates work together to create a full experience of care.

Did you know that about 1.1 million people in the United States are living with Parkinson's disease (PD)? 🌷

🧠 This progressive brain disorder is perhaps most well known for causing tremors, but other symptoms include loss of vocal volume, sleep disruptions, stiffness, and balance issues, among others.

What does Occupational Therapy look like❓

It looks like someone practicing how to button a shirt again. 👔 Rebuilding the strength and dexterity to hold a coffee cup. ☕ Rehearsing the motions to prepare a simple meal and learning to use a reacher to safely pick things up without bending 🫳.

During Occupational Therapy Month, we’re celebrating the amazing therapists who help our rehab patients rebuild confidence, independence, and the skills that make daily life meaningful. 🫶

💃 Betty Robertson started her journey with us with pain and swelling in her hip and with decreased strength and activity tolerance, and now she's line dancing! 🤩

Complications after a hip surgery left Betty weak but determined to get back to her prior level of function. Our physical and occupational therapists worked with her toward that goal. She is now walking well and is able to take care of herself in her independent living apartment. 💪

"I never thought I'd walk without pain again," Betty shared. "I can finally teach my Therapist (Heather Gordon, Occupational Therapist) something in return, line dancing! It was so much fun! 😁 I'd recommend this place to anyone — best therapy I've had. They truly know what they're doing."
