Last week, we had the honor of celebrating Trish Brown for her years of dedicated service as CBHC’s Crisis Services Operations Director.
After serving in this incredibly demanding leadership role, Trish is stepping down to return to direct patient care — where her true passion shines brightest.

Throughout her time in Crisis Services, Trish has worked tirelessly to strengthen programs, implement effective systems, and support both staff and patients with compassion and excellence.

We are deeply grateful for her leadership and the lasting impact she has made on our organization. We look forward to watching her continue to make a difference in the lives of the patients she cares for so passionately.

A meaningful step forward for behavioral health services in Charlotte County.

On April 22, CFBHN’s Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, Luis Rivas, attended the Grand Opening and Open House for Charlotte Behavioral Health Care’s new Specialized Adult Detox & Recovery Unit, an important expansion that strengthens the continuum of care for adults seeking recovery support.

The event featured a brief ceremony and was well attended, reflecting the strong community partnerships and shared commitment to expanding access to quality behavioral health services. This new unit will enhance Charlotte Behavioral Health Care’s ability to provide specialized detox and recovery care, helping individuals take critical first steps toward long-term wellness.

It’s inspiring to see continued investment in behavioral health resources that will make a lasting difference for individuals, families, and the Charlotte County community.

Our maintenance team may be small, but they consistently deliver big results. Over the past several months, they’ve taken on major projects like the Selby House improvements, worked through complex kitchen repairs without disrupting meals, and supported the ongoing CRF expansion, all while continuing to meet the day-to-day needs of the entire agency.

On top of that, they tackled a long-overdue project and successfully cleaned out the maintenance building, organizing years’ worth of accumulated items, no small feat.

They’ve stepped up during staffing gaps, jumped in to support custodial on many occasions, and kept things moving. Simply put, if something needs to get done, they find a way to make it happen.

The work they do is not only physically demanding, but also requires constant coordination, shifting priorities, and problem-solving. Many of these tasks are not the most pleasant, yet they continue to show up and get the job done.

We recently hosted our Bring Your Child to Work Day and it was a blast! With 13 kids in attendance, the day was filled with energy, curiosity, and plenty of smiles.

They toured our new expansion and spent time with program leaders through a variety of fun, hands-on activities. By the end of the day, we had future cooks, therapists, case managers, and IT leaders in the making!
