Due to the influx of clients whose children have attention issues, I continue to refine my resources page with references for parents. https://www.tlcotllc.com/resources Aside from the recommended books, the two links I encourage people to read pertain to the overuse of electronics, and negative effects of sugar and ultra-processed foods. Cutting back on all of these will drastically eliminate many unwanted behaviors, lower anxiety, and improve overall health.

Happy New Year! To ensure elevated levels of happiness and productivity throughout the remaining 364 days of 2025, I recommend three small lifestyle choices. 1. Daily physical activity as a family 2. Digital detox by reducing the use of electronics 3. Minimal consumption of sugar and ultra-processed foods. Let's make this a great year!

During the cold months, children typically spend more time indoors, socially isolated and less engaged in physical activities. And during the holiday months, the break from school comes with less structured time. I also realize many parents don’t get the break they deserve for their own form of wellness activities, even if that entails dinner alone.

Starting next Friday, December13th, I’ll offer two hours of structured play time from 6-8pm. Most kids want to stay longer than their scheduled sessions, and this will give them additional time to engage with their peers while participating in challenging activities. I’ll consider scheduling these “FunNights” once or twice a month, depending on the level of interest.
