Heading back to Virginia from our summer family vacation with our usual group but instead of our typical east coast beach trip, we decided to go on a bigger adventure to the fjords in Norway 🇳🇴. Many of us turned 40 this year and wanted to have a “Happy Fjordieth” 🤓
My husband and I have never taken both our kids at ages they’d remembered being abroad and it’s been about 7+ years for us traveling internationally. Everything kind of just fell into place and I couldn’t believe we were doing this.
Norway had, by far, the most beautiful scenery I have ever witnessed thus far. Nature is so beautiful. I love being reminded how big the world is especially when it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day bubble we all live in.
I’m proud to say that I only opened my laptop, social media, and email at the airports vs on the actual trip. For anyone who works in healthcare knows that can be a very challenging thing to do but in order to have balance, we all need a little break.
Nature, connection, and rest are some of the most under-rated prescriptions in modern healthcare. When I first entered my career I was so hungry to excel at my profession that in just 3-5 years in, I had completely lost who I was, feeling burnt out, and had no idea what it really meant to care for my self. The culture around me was such that self care had the vibe of being selfish, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I cannot express how grateful I feel to have Art of Motion PT and be offering care I believe in, looking at the whole picture while actually doing the work I recommend to others. Self care is not always perfect but when its intentional, it’s powerful. We’re all in this journey together.
⭐️ For the newbie hungry professional, success is more than just titles, promotions, and certifications.
⭐️ For the mom who puts everyone else before herself, your health and wellness matters more than you probably intentionally provide yourself.
⭐️ To the one navigating life’s transitions—it’s okay to pause. You may feel like you’re falling behind, but you are not a failure.
