Dedicated to the highest ethical and professional standards in the practice of group psychotherapy, Westchester Group Psychotherapy Society (WGPS) was formed to promote education, research, training, and the open exchange of ideas between mental health professionals on the practice of group psychotherapy. Meetings are open to mental health professionals and students interested in the practice of group psychotherapy within the counties of Westchester, Rockland, Duchess, Putnam, and Orange, in New York State, and adjacent areas of Southern Connecticut.

AGPA member SaraKay Smullens MSW, BCD, CFLE, CGP, a 1965 alumna of the Master of Social Work ‎program at Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice, has been selected as the 2021 recipient of the ‎Kermit B. Nash Award by the Society for Social Work Leadership. Smullens has researched the union of ‎activism, advocacy, and group psychotherapy for over two years, and in late October 2021, NASW Press ‎will publish the second edition of her book, “Burnout and Self-Care.” Read more about Smullens’s ‎reception of the Kermit B.
