Renee Marie Lancaster, 75, of Lake Peekskill NY passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on August 13, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, love and unwavering sarcasm.

She was born on April 23, 1950 in Peekskill NY to Anna and James Rockett, attended Croton Harmon High School and went on to marry and spend over 50 years with the love of her life Ernest Lancaster Jr. Renee was born with a boundless curiosity and a heart open to the world. She carried those traits throughout her life, she was always listening and offering encouragement more than judgment, and always giving more than she ever asked in return.

Renee’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who found beauty in the simple things in life. To her family she was a safe harbor. To her friends, she was a confidante. Besides taking care of her family she loved gardening, Jeopardy, and you could always find her floating around the pool with a grandbaby in her arms. Later on in life she enjoyed a good game of solitaire and having her nails done.

Her generosity extended far beyond her home. Renee touched countless lives with her compassion and selflessness. Whether it was a neighbor in need, a stranger at the grocery store, or a friend going through hard times, she offered help without hesitation and kindness without condition.

While her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Renee’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by her example. Renee’s love was her legacy; Her laughter, her wisdom, and her unwavering love will live on in us always.

A celebration of Renee’s life will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2025 from 5-7 at Heritage Funeral Home, 35 Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley, New York 10579

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer society and/or The National MS society.

Annamarie (“Ann”) Ruth Willanzheimer Mulé left this world on March 29, 2025 in Daytona Beach, Florida at the age of 94, surrounded by her three sons, eight grandchildren, and close friends. She was born along with her identical twin sister Magdalena (“Ruth”) on July 29, 1930 to German immigrants Michael E. (“Eddie”) and Karolina (Arnold) Willanzheimer in Stamford, CT, and Ann’s younger sister Lena followed shortly. After graduating from Peekskill High School in 1947 at the age of 16, she commuted to her secretarial job on Wall Street and took courses at night. Despite hardships—the loss of her mother at age 18, tuberculosis followed by a year’s recovery in a sanitorium, then later working two jobs while raising three boisterous sons—she never failed to be exceptionally kind, caring, and empathetic. She had integrity, as well as a special place in her heart for those who were struggling. She always embodied her ideal of elegance, which to her meant a life lived with warmth, dignity, and grace. Candid, strong-willed, and practical, she had a system for everything. She loved cats, Frank Sinatra, yoga, and all things glamorous, and she never said no to a dessert (“just so I can say I tried it”).

Driven, selfless, and unflaggingly focused on self-improvement and the pursuit of knowledge, Ann prioritized her children and their education and success. Additionally, she and her twin sister Ruth spoke on the phone every day and frequently traversed the country to visit each other even into Ann’s final months. Besides her family, she was passionate about healthy living, medical research, and, later in life, investing in the stock market. The energy, excellence, and focus with which she did everything led to her calling herself “Miss Quality Control,” but her most cherished titles were Mom, Grandma, and Meemo.

She is survived by her three devoted children, Charles, Edward and his wife Marian, and Richard; her eight loving grandchildren, Daniel, Nicole, Alyssa, Jaclyn, Michelle, Anna, Keara, and Emily; her sister Ruth Buhs; beloved Marlo Weaver; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Carmine Mulé, her daughter-in-law Barbara Sampson, her sister Lena Koerner, and her brother Michael Willanzheimer. She was especially grateful for the love and support of her family and community.

Services are being held in Putnam Valley, NY. The wake will be on Friday, April 4th from 3-7pm at the Heritage Funeral Home (35 Morrissey Drive) and a funeral mass on Saturday, April 5th at 10:30
am at the Church of the North American Martyrs (55 Oscawana Lake Rd). She will be buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL in her honor.

Over his more than 20-year career as a firefighter, he also pursued higher education, earning a degree in fire science from Westchester Community College. After his time with the WPFD, he was a Sears technician for 22 years.

He spent 10 years as a dedicated school bus driver in Putnam Valley and was an active member of VFW Post 391, where he served as chaplain, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 1517. His greatest joy, however, was his 40 years of involvement with Putnam Valley Boy Scout Troop 353, where his three sons and grandson are members. Laurence was a constant presence, offering guidance, support, and leadership to generations of Scouts. He most recently participated in the annual Winter Carnival in Lake George in February 2025, an event he truly loved. A proud veteran, he was also a dedicated participant in Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades in Putnam Valley, honoring the service and sacrifices of fellow soldiers.

On September 11, 1971, Laurence married the love of his life, Diane (Griffith) Gibbs, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure for over 52 years. Laurence is survived by Diane and their sons, Jonathan (Amy) Gibbs of Shelton, CT, Jason Gibbs (Jen Anderson), and Daniel Gibbs (Sarah Dooney), all of Putnam Valley. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Jacob, Aiden, and Grace Gibbs, and bonus grandsons, Trevor and Ryan Anderson. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth (Dana) Gibbs of Maryland. Laurence lived with courage, served with honor, and loved with all his heart. His legacy will endure in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.
