Anne (Tibbs) Rush passed away on Monday, January 19th, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1954, in Glasgow, Scotland to parents Robert and Isabella (Hamill) Tibbs.

A talented floral designer, Anne previously owned and managed Colony Florist in Milford, Connecticut and worked at various flower shops throughout her career. Most recently, Anne worked at Putnam Valley Florist where she worked alongside her closest friends, Tara, Billie and John.

Anne is survived by three sisters, Wilma (John) Ward, Alice (Tom) Yonskie and Marie (Paul) Holland. She was predeceased by her older sister Jean and brother-in-law Charles Hodgart.

In 2015 her beloved husband, Tony Rush, also sadly passed away. Anne lost the love of her life. She and Tony were a wonderful, devoted couple who brought out the best in each other. Anne was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Frank Rush and sister-in-law, Bernadette Rush.

Anne had a loving and close bond with her four sisters and especially loved when they got together for an occasional “Sisters Day” where they shared their favorite memories and re-told old stories, accompanied by lots of laughter and a “wee cup of tea” or two.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Sharon Smith, J.R. Ward, Kimberly Spielberg, Reagan Wentzell, Stacie Schultz, Eric Feye, Meghan Anzano, Robert Yonskie and Ryan Feye. Anne is also survived by her sister-in-law, Beatrice Fico, niece Tina (Eric) Mignano and nephew Frank (Diane) Rush and their families.

Anne was a good friend; funny, kind, honest, wise, and generous. She will be greatly missed. At her request, all services are private.

Patsy Ann Dusavage passed away on December 29th surrounded by loving family. Patsy was born in Oneonta NY on December 17, 1935. She was the child of Lavinia (Davidson) and Gilbert Crounse. She married Gary Wayne Crewell on May 20, 1956. He passed away on July 18, 1961. They had 3 children Julie Ann Crewell Johnson (deceased July 20, 1994), Amy Beth Crewell Ubben (Arthur) and Gary Wayne Crewell (Charlene). Patsy remarried on July 10, 1965, Joseph F. Dusavage (deceased January 9, 2003). They had one child, Joseph P. Dusavage (Kate). Patsy is survived by nine grandchildren: Larissa Crewell Gerlach, Tyler Ubben, Cheyanne Johnson Saraceno, Lauren Crewell, Nicole Ubben Rozestraten, Korinne Johnson Jones, Kyle Johnson, Coleman Dusavage, and Jacob Dusavage. She also has six great grandchildren: Peyton Gruhl, Rylie Jones, Lucas Saraceno, Sara Rozestraten, Hailyn Saraceno and Chloe Rozestraten.

Patsy was a lover of life and people. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, Mohegan Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Van Cortlandtville Historical Society and NYP/HVH Women’s Auxiliary. She was an active volunteer all her life. Her most rewarding job was being a Chaplain for 12 years at NYP/HVH.

Ellen T. Bardes, a longtime resident of Lake Peekskill, New York, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

Ellen was born in New York City on April 15, 1935, to Patrick and Mary Magee, and was raised by Patrick and Anne O’Hare in Yonkers, New York. She graduated from St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx in 1952.

Ellen met and married the love of her life, Alvin J. Bardes, who predeceased her in January 2000. Together, they devoted their lives to raising their eight children, creating a home filled with love, faith, and strong family values.

Outside of work, Ellen’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her generosity and kindness extended far beyond her home, and she touched countless lives with her compassion, warmth, and selflessness. Ellen will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and her quiet strength that guided those around her.

Ellen is survived by her eight children: Linda (Jim) Cummings, Alvin (Jody) Bardes, Thomas Bardes, Daniel (Donna) Bardes, Kenneth (Jean) Bardes, William (Patti) Bardes, Patricia Carey, and Kathleen (Brian) Bardes.

She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren: Tara (Billy) Venezia, Tiffany (Brian) Carey, Daniel (Nicole) Bardes, Megan Bardes, Jenna (Chris) Carey, Kristina (Michael) Fratto, James Carey, Samantha (Taylor) Devine, Dylan Page, Jayln Page, Shannon O’Toole, Kyle Kardian, William Leadbetter, and Laura Leadbetter; and her nine great-grandchildren: Billy Venezia, Kelli Venezia, Michael Venezia, Joseph Venezia, Anthony Johnston, Kyrie Williamson, Blake Williamson, Finnegan Scharff, and Wyatt Scharff.

In addition, Ellen is survived by her brothers Charlie (Robin) McGee and Danny (Peggy) O’Hare, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Alvin; her four sisters, Mary, Patricia, Babs, and Catsil; and her brother Philip.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 35 Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley, NY 10579. Thomas Tarpey, of Putnam Valley, passed away at age 64 on December 1st peacefully in his sleep. Thomas was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Magdalena Tarpey, with whom he shared a life built on partnership, laughter, and quiet moments of kindness.

Thomas dedicated 38 years to the IBEW Local 3, where he built lasting friendships and a reputation for integrity, skill, and hard work. He took great pride in his career and retired with the respect of those who worked beside him over many decades.

Outside of work, Thomas found joy on the open road, especially when riding his Harley, a passion that reflected his independent spirit and love of adventure. At home, his happiest moments were spent with family and with his beloved dog, Tobie, whose companionship meant the world to him.

Though he never had children of his own, Thomas embraced his role in a blended family. He treasured time with his stepchildren, Alexander Brown, Samantha Guzman, and Steven Guzman, and their families, proudly watching their lives grow and change. He was especially grateful for the joy brought by four grandchildren, who filled his later years with warmth and laughter.

Thomas is survived by his brother John Tarpey and his wife Carol, and Bob Tarpey and his wife Jane. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces, Alexa, Gianna, Nicole, and Marissa whom he adored

Those who knew Thomas will remember him for his eccentric personality, his steady presence, and his deep loyalty to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Nancy E. Heller, a longtime resident of Putnam Valley, passed away on October 21, 2025 at NY Presbyterian Hospital Hudson Valley. She was 80 years old. Nancy was born on November 11, 1944 in Yonkers, NY to the late Thomas and Grace (Ostrander) DeSoto.

Nancy graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in 1962. Nancy spent 25 years working as a Medical Assistant for local doctor offices and medical groups until she retired in 2012.

Nancy is survived by her loving children Robert D. and Alison Heller both of Putnam Valley, a sister-in-law Diana Borsari (Kenneth), several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with her 2 cherished grand fur-babies Archie and Leo.

She was predeceased by her dedicated and loving husband, Robert J. Heller, her brother, Thomas DeSoto, her sister by 17 days Leah Timmons and her sister-in-law Donna Kisslinger.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28th from 6 - 8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 35 Morrissey Dr., Putnam Valley, NY 19579. Inurnment of the ashes will take place on Wednesday, October 29th at 11:30 AM at Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Rd., Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567.

George E. Schulze Sr., 92, passed away at his home in Sebastian, Florida, surrounded by loved ones on October 1, 2025.

Born on December 17, 1932, he was the son of the late George Ferdinand Schulze and Elizabeth Hazel Duke Schulze. He graduated from NYU with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He retired from IBM, at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, N.Y.

He proudly served his Country in the United States Army as a Military Police from September 8, 1954 – August 31, 1962.

George was a devoted member of Sebastian Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and was an absolute sports enthusiast, completely devoted to the New York Giants. Mostly, he loved his time with his family.

In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his wife of forty-eight years Phyllis A. Beska Schulze, brother Robert Schulze and Shirley Schofield. He is survived by his wife Mary I. Burmaster – Schulze, George E. Schulze Jr., Christine Fitchett (Bobby), Janice Bell (John). Seven Grandchildren, Raymond E. Price (Jana), Steven Price, Larysa Shevchenko, Gregory Bell, Mark Schulze, Dylan Orlando (Kaitlyn), Brandon Bell (Mildred), and six Great-Grandchildren. His Extended family, Mary Rusinovich (Stan), Barbara Burke (Tom), Tracy Alpy, Laura Anderson (Peter), Edwin Burmaster (Donna), and Brad Schofield (Jackie).

Services with Military Honors will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 35 Morrissey Dr., Putnam Valley, N.Y. on Saturday October 25, 2025 at 11:00 with Interment following at Rose Hills Cemetery in Putnam Valley, N.Y.

Raymond Wolff passed away on Monday September 22, 2025, after fighting a long battle of lung cancer.
Ray was born in Yonkers, NY. When he was 5, his parents Carol & Charles Wolff moved to Lake Peekskill, where he spent the next 56 years living on & off.
Ray is predeceased by his parents, and his beloved brother, Charlie, who passed away in 2020.
He is survived by Robin his beloved wife for 19 years, his daughter Jessica Casino, his son Brett Byrne and his wife Jess.
Ray loved his New York Rangers. He worked for Hudson Valley Bus Company for 20 years as a Coach Bus Driver. Everyone loved Ray, and he will be missed by those who knew him.
Per Ray’s wishes, there will be no services.

Edwin H. Sabrsula passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. He was 92. Edwin is survived by his beloved wife Louise to whom he was married for 69 years. He is also survived by his son Kenneth and his wife Debra, and by his daughter-in-law Ann-Marie. He was predeceased by his son Donald in 2003. Edwin is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie Sabrsula, Katherine Marin and her husband Carlos, and Daniel Sabrsula. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, but is predeceased by each of his brothers and sisters.
Edwin was an active and valued part of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Putnam Valley. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, making homemade jerky, and was a skilled dominoes player and scorekeeper. He was a wise and gentle presence, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Visiting hours are on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 26th at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley. Renee Marie Lancaster, 75, of Lake Peekskill NY passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on August 13, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, love and unwavering sarcasm.

She was born on April 23, 1950 in Peekskill NY to Anna and James Rockett, attended Croton Harmon High School and went on to marry and spend over 50 years with the love of her life Ernest Lancaster Jr. Renee was born with a boundless curiosity and a heart open to the world. She carried those traits throughout her life, she was always listening and offering encouragement more than judgment, and always giving more than she ever asked in return.

Renee’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who found beauty in the simple things in life. To her family she was a safe harbor. To her friends, she was a confidante. Besides taking care of her family she loved gardening, Jeopardy, and you could always find her floating around the pool with a grandbaby in her arms. Later on in life she enjoyed a good game of solitaire and having her nails done.

Her generosity extended far beyond her home. Renee touched countless lives with her compassion and selflessness. Whether it was a neighbor in need, a stranger at the grocery store, or a friend going through hard times, she offered help without hesitation and kindness without condition.

While her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Renee’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by her example. Renee’s love was her legacy; Her laughter, her wisdom, and her unwavering love will live on in us always.

Agnes “Muriel” Keating went home on a August 11th. Muriel was born in Coatbridge, Scotland on February 4th 1919. She moved to the United States as a wee lass, and settled in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, with her mom and dad. Working in Manhattan, she and her friend Loretta attended a dance for veterans, and here she met the love of her life and partner, Phil Keating. They married and moved to Putnam Vlley in 1950 into their new home on Oscawana Lake Road. Phil owned a local real estate and insurance business, and Muriel settled into raising their family, while becoming active in many local institutions; Putnam Valley Fire Auxiliary, Altar and Rosary Society of Saint Columbanus, and the Putnam Valley Democratic Club, to name a few. Family however was the center of Muriel’s life and she enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas. …and of course the perfect Manhattan. After selling the family business, Phil and Muriel enjoyed traveling with a group of friends, even trying white water rafting in their 70s. After Phil passed, Muriel found the Putnam Valley Seniors and settled into a leadership role. At her table up front, she greeted new arrivals while playing cards and mahjong. For many years, Muriel helped plan and schedule various bus trips for the seniors. She stepped down from this position at the age of 97. Muriel is predeceased by her husband. She is survived by her children Nancy (Gary) Wulfhop, Phil (Jerilyn Broege) Keating, Ross Keating and his partner Sue Jackson, her daughter-in-law Maureen Keating, grandchildren Kimberly (Michael) Nicastro, Daniel (Jess) Keating, and Phil (Mary) Keating, Gary Wulfhop and Richard Wulfhop and her great- grandchildren Carolyn, Anthony, Lil, Jack, Ben, Eric, and Luke. Mom or Nana lived a long wonderful and fruitful life. She saw many changes and rolled with many punches, not always wanting to change, but always moving forward. She will be remembered for those big blue eyes, her smile, and her love of life, and most important, her family.
Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the North American Martyrs in Putnam Valley, and interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Arthur W. Smith passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. He was born in Peekskill on February 14, 1944 to Francis and Virginia Smith, both of whom have predeceased him. He was always a creative person who loved to work with his hands. He was an electrician who seemed to be able to solve any problems that came his way. He loved the outdoors and loved to hunt. He raced motorcycles, snowmobiles, and cars. If it went fast, he was on it or in it! He was a great cook and enjoyed preparing holiday feasts.
Artie is survived by Maryann, his beloved wife for 44 years, and by his daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Peter, and he was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Danielle. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Artie’s beloved brother Earl, sister-in-law Michele, and their family also survive.
Visiting hours are on Sunday, August 10th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. At Heritage Funeral Home, Morrissey Drive, Putnam Valley. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, August 11th at Grace Methodist Church on Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley, and interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department and to the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
