Today we proudly recognize and thank all the incredible people who answer the call β€” 24/7, 365 days a year.

To our PVVAC members, our dedicated dispatchers, and our friends in neighboring departments β€” thank you for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our community. πŸ’™

You are the heartbeat of public safety, and we’re grateful for everything you do to keep Putnam Valley safe.

πŸŽƒπŸš‘ Trunk or Treat Fun! πŸ‘»

PVVAC had a spooktacular time at the Putnam Valley Education Foundation Trunk or Treat! Our crews brought out both our modern ambulance and our classic 1962 Miller-Meteor Cadillac ambulance for everyone to enjoy. We had a blast handing out candy, meeting so many creative costumes, and sharing smiles with our community.

Thank you to the PVEF for hosting another great event β€” and to everyone who stopped by to say hi! πŸ’šπŸ–€

🌞 Putnam Valley Town Day 2025 🌞

What a wonderful day celebrating Putnam Valley Town Spirit! πŸ’šπŸš‘

PVVAC was proud to take part in the festivities β€” handing out refreshing watermelon and swag while connecting with our neighbors. Our Youth Corps impressed with free blood pressure checks and shared information about community service opportunities for young adults 14 & up. Meanwhile, our Senior Corps and Associate Members spoke with visitors about all the ways to get involved β€” whether on the front line or behind the scenes.

Even with a few scraped knees and a run-in with some bees, our crews kept busy. With all three ambulances covering calls throughout the day, PVVAC once again showed our unwavering commitment to serving this community, wherever and whenever we’re needed.

A huge thank you to the Putnam Valley Fire Department, the Town of Putnam Valley, and Parks & Recreation for hosting another great Town Day and making this celebration possible. πŸ’š

Today, we pause to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
We honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who answered the call that day.

Please join us this evening at 6:00 PM at the 9/11 Memorial in Putnam Valley Town Park as our neighbors at the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department host their annual memorial ceremony. Together, we will stand in remembrance and reflection, honoring those we can never forget.

The officers and members extend our condolences to the family of Sheriff Kevin McConville and Officers of Putnam County Sheriffs Office. Thank you Sheriff for your years of dedicated service to our community. Rest in Peace.

It is with deep sadness that the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announces the passing of Sheriff Kevin J. McConville on August 22, 2025.

Sheriff McConville began his tenure on January 1, 2022, after being elected to a four-year term. Prior to becoming Sheriff, McConville had served with the MTA Police Department for thirty years, beginning as a patrolman and rising through the ranks, retiring as the Chief. He worked during the 9/11 terror attacks and served as Chief during the London and Madrid bombings on their commuter transport system, implementing plans and responses in incident reduction and management.

A lifelong resident of Putnam County, as Sheriff, he worked diligently to improve the working conditions for the men and women of the department so they could better serve the residents of the county. His accomplishments included achieving DCJS state accreditation in law enforcement, obtaining a new records management system, improving radio communication systems to greatly reduce areas of poor reception, and obtaining newer vehicles.

Sheriff McConville devoted his life to serving others with integrity, courage, and compassion. Our hearts are heavy as we stand with the McConville family, but we will honor his legacy with pride and continue the mission that we have to serve and protect Putnam County.
