Starting tonight and running through the storm we'll have at least one crew in house ready to roll. That said we encourage everyone to stay safe and plan accordingly. If you are low on bread and milk, now is the time!

Today we want to give a HUGE thank you to Put Some Meat On Your Bones and Lyle for donating lunch to our crews ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿš‘
Not only did he chef up some creative grilled cheese, but he refused payment and simply thanked our members for what we do. In what is often a thankless โ€œjob,โ€ gestures like this truly mean more than words can say.
Our volunteers fuel up on coffee and commitment most days โ€” but today we were fueled by generosity, kindness, and some seriously amazing grilled cheese.
Lyle, your support of our crews does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful for the nourishment and for community members like you who always have our backs.
If you see Put Some Meat On Your Bones at the JV Mall, be sure to show them some love. They certainly showed it to us today. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Training Night Success!
Tonight PVVAC members sharpened their skills during our Lift & Move / Extrication Drill, focusing on safe patient access, packaging, and removal from difficult spaces using equipment like stair chairs, scoop stretchers, KEDs, and more.
We were also glad to be joined by members of Yorktown VAC, making it a great opportunity to train together, share techniques, and build stronger working relationships.
Strong training leads to safer crews and better patient care. Thanks to everyone who came out and put in the work! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿš‘ Help Us Find You Faster ๐Ÿš‘

In an emergency, every second counts. One of the simplest ways you can help our crews is by making sure your house numbers are clearly visible from the road.

โœ”๏ธ Large and easy to read
โœ”๏ธ Reflective at minimum
โœ”๏ธ Even better if theyโ€™re well-lit at night

When responding to calls in the dark, rain, snow, or storms, visible numbers help us get to you without delay.

Not sure what works best for your home? Need help picking out good numbers or placement? Send us a DM โ€” weโ€™d be happy to help!

๐ŸŒจ๏ธ Storm Response Recap ๐Ÿš‘

Throughout the entire storm, PVVAC had members in-house and ready to respond at a momentโ€™s notice. Our members covered every call that came in, ranging from motor vehicle accidents to cardiac emergencies, despite extremely challenging road conditions.

Thanks to the outstanding work of the Town and County Highway Departments, our ambulances were able to safely reach patients and transport them to the hospital without delay. Their tireless efforts keeping roads passable made a real difference in our ability to serve the community.

Weโ€™re proud of our volunteers who stepped up, stayed overnight, and answered every call when the weather was at its worst. Thank you to our crews, our highway partners, and our community for working together to keep Putnam Valley safe.

๐Ÿš‘ Storm Coverage Notice ๐ŸŒง๏ธโ„๏ธ

We currently have a crew in-house and ready to roll for the duration of the storm. Our members are standing by to respond to emergencies as safely and quickly as possible.

We ask residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Fewer cars mean safer travel for everyone โ€” especially emergency vehicles responding when seconds matter.

Please take a moment to subscribe to the Townโ€™s Emergency Alert System so you receive real-time updates, road closures, and safety information during severe weather. Available on the town website.

Your cooperation helps keep our community and responders safe. Stay warm, stay put, and stay safe. ๐Ÿ’™
