I should probably introduce myself here (this is gonna be a longer post :))
🐝✨️Hey, I'm Bella! I'm a holistic doula and reiki practitioner operating out of the Hudson Valley. I'm also a mom to my wonderful 1-year old daughter and two cats. I write poetry, enjoy reading and crafting, and I love spending time out in nature whether it be hiking or just sitting in some grass.
I initially felt the call to support people holistically and spiritually in 2020, though it took me a while to listen to it. It quickly became apparent to me how disconnected so many folks are from our earthly essence and our higher consciousness. I started off with an introductory herbalism course offered by Herbal Academy. As much as I enjoyed it, I knew herbalism would be a slow and steady complement to my life and not my main area of focus. I moved onto pursue licensure in massage therapy at The Institute for Holistic Health. I absolutely fell in love with massage therapy and I look forward to being able to offer these services in the future, but the universe had other plans for me in the meantime!
In 2023 I gave birth to my daughter— this was the most intense and surreal experience of my life mentally, physically, and spiritually. There have been so many days where mothering felt impossible, and just as many where it felt effortless. Navigating pregnancy & postpartum as a single mom is really what shoved me into the world of birthwork. I love being able to share my knowledge and experience with folks making this deeply sacred and transformative transition.
I completed an online self-paced doula training earlier this year, though I found it to be lacking in some areas. Currently I'm working on certification with Cornerstone Doula Trainings. Certification is not necessary to be a doula, though it is necessary to be able to accept health insurance in NYS. There is so much to consider with doula certification that I won't get into now, but I'm excited to make my offerings more accessible in the near future. I also attended Reiki level 1 & 2 trainings in March of this year Moss and Moonlight: Sanctuary for Healing Arts. Reiki is so gentle, yet so powerful— a gift I can't wait to share with more!
